the wife of 55-year-old brian wong of berkeley is still missing. he and his brothers gary, glen and craig have taken an annual fish trip to baja for years. they are experienced in survival. they are a tight-knit family. they do a lot of fishing together. gary wong called his wife to wire him money to come home since as kristy mentioned everybody lost their wallets, cell phones and car keys all lost in the sea of cortez. the brothers traveled with don lee of san ramon. his wife says lee is still missing. >>> most of the people on the boat survived including a man from into the who joined the trip at the last minute. he called his wife to tell her that he is safe. >> then he mentioned that he got awakened at 2:30 and they all just had to jump off the boat and take what, you know, life jackets on, and he indicated they had been in the water for 15 hours. >> another local survivor from belmont says he including to an ice chest and floated on it until he was rescued. and another told his wife in san martin he ended up near a liferaft after he was thrown in the water. among the

erik early sunday morning when a violent storm suddenly sank the boat. 19 men including gary craig and glen wong swam for more than 15 hours. while the water was treacherous, it has since calmed and there are many islands around. fishermen tell the family that others have been rescued in the area in the past after being stranded for days. that gives elsie hope. >> it's warm. hypothermia is not going to set in. i fear for sharks because glen told me that he saw sharks in the water. i'm hoping that he has hit land and he is just waiting, that they're all waiting to be rescued. that they're on land, they just have to find them. >> reporter: mexican officials say divers are on the way to search the wreckage but for some reason are still not in place. air and land searches continue. 16 survivors left early this morning and they are all driving home scheduled to arrive any moment all but the wongs. >> it may be there is a chance that they might just find something. so that's why we decided to stay another day. there's always hope. you know, there's always a slim chance that they might find something.
