yeah, definitely gasia we are back into the fall. and a drier weather pattern. patchy valley fog, i don't think it'll be hard to get a dense fog advisory as we roll into tomorrow, maybe into saturday as well. i mean it's for the weather service to decide. but there will be areas. if you had it sense this morning, you will have it dense again tomorrow. the ground is wet, the humidity increases. the dewpoint temperature in the north bay, 50-degree. around 50-degree, so when the temperature drops and hits 50 degrees, condensation occurring and you have fog. this is the kind of fog that gives you the really poor visibilities. you knew that. but that's the idea. and interesting about dewpoints, once dewpoint is reached, tonight it's 50 degrees, it reaches 50 degrees fog forms. once fog form, temperatures will not drop further than that. so 50 degrees the overnight low. fog is condensation if you will. you didn't need all that. but the idea is fog is back in the forecast. overnight low in livermore, 50 degrees, 53 by 7:00 a.m. valley fog an issue. noontime about 58 de

good evening i'm gasia mikaelian. >> and i'm frank somerville. julie haener is off tonight. tonight we're learning that the elderly man killed in that house fire was a world war ii veteran who served in both europe and the pacific. the fire broke out this afternoon in walnut creek on draden court. that's where ken wayne is live tonight with more on the victim and also what may have caused the fire, ken. >> reporter: frank, when fire fighters arrived they say there were no flames visible but there was so much smoke in the house they had to cut a hole in the roof to get that smoke out. but by then it was already too late to save 85-year-old keith brooks who may have died from smoke inhalation. >> when we opened up the front door, smoke down to the floor. thick black smoke all the way down. they initiated a quick search, located the victim upstairs in the room of origin. we put the fire out relatively quickly. it wasn't a large fire. at this point the cause of the fire and the death are under investigation. >>> he was the webmaster for this website dedicated to the blackhawks a

[ music ] >> our next storm rapidly is approaching the bay area coastline. we still have some rain and snow to our east. in fact, right now on live stormtracker 2 you can see the coverage with the snow especially up above 7,000 feet for the sierra. here in the bay area the radar has been increasing the coverage in the past 1-2 hours. up in the north bay down towards the northern portions of marin county as well showing you some activity. those darker shades of green do correspond to some heavier downpours around redwood city. show you this and check out the south bay neighborhoods as well. because there the coverage is, once again, especially for the santa cruz mountains this is the target zone for heavy rainfall easily topping three inches. this w
