gavin newsom will be here at wise technology later this morning. pecializes in what's called cloud computing. newsom is coming to the capital of innovation to give his thoughts on what's wrong with the economy. the results of his research and how he plans to fix it. for one, he was floored to learn that california has no trade agency or trade representative to get the economy going. he says 35 other states already have representatives stationed across the globe, pushing their products. california has none. newsom believes that california has zero leadership when it comes to job creation so he'll meet here with 200 business leaders where he'll reveal what he calls his 180-day action plan to get the state back to competitiveness. newsom suggests creating a state job czar. the office would help business develop and expand and create economic development ideas, he wants to eliminate some of the state commissions that overlap with other commissions and state agencies. he wants to form regulatory strike teams to help businesses cut through the red tape, a

gavin newsom is not in san francisco. the only conclusion i get is that it is now time to clean up the department of public health. [applause] i hate to say this, but it is kind of suspicious, in my opinion, the department of public health puts forth all of these platitudes about ethical conduct, compliance, concerns, rules, etc., get in actual practice, they go after their own valuable employees, like myself, just for whistle- blowing. these are actual fact. i am still requesting the board of supervisors to hold a hearing on the department of public health and if they are as clean as some people say. let's put it in writing and all of us will then shut up. but the department of public health needs to be cleaned up, it is your duty to do it. i think this committee is a starting point and deserves credit for at least holding hearings on the department of public health. in my own opinion, senior persons inside city hall have made a conscious effort to stop my consistent efforts just to question what is going on at the depar
