gaynor and williams couldn't make it. but i will be representing them. since we only have five minutes, we wanted to look at the ripple effects of plessy versus ferguson in the context of policing. so through plessy versus ferguson, we sort of engaged in the discussion of the political social condition specifically so the inequitable access to quality public education, public housing which inevitably spiralled into problems of higher poverty, crime, both underpolicing and overpolicing of african-american communities. and therefore we sort of wanted to see how segregation, and high crime, how did this fuse with already preexisting negative social skruks of negativity based on race which led to additional incarceration of the black community. our question was what were the long term racial segregation effects on the context of policing. we looked at the notion of black spaces largely composed of american residents and how did it lead to a disproportionate number of black citizens killed by police. we created a panel data set which is sort of limited. due t
