the geary and b.r.t. -- geary and van ness b.r.t. projects were recommended in muni's vision plan back in 2000 and were recommended as the city's transportation expansion strategy in the 2004 county-wide transportation plan. the authority-led feasibility studies for these projects that were adopted in 2006 and with adoption of those feasibility studies, those boards recommended that the project concept and alternatives be environmentally assessed. right now geary and van ness alternatives are undergoing environmental review. both the geary and van ness projects include a couple core features and the purpose is to provide rapid transit, true rapid transit using rubber-tire vehicles on these two critical corridors that currently lack it. all alternatives do provide a dedicated lane for buses and differentiated further from the current diamond lanes by colored pavement or by a small curve or other clear differentiation. all alternatives include high quality station platforms with level loading. passengers can load and unload the bus thr

trees on the geary boulevard median. i am here to ask you to please reconsider this issue of ending on the maintenance of trees to individuals from dpw. my work with dpw -- [inaudible] especially as president's initial anticipate they have to take care of. the present dpw president said they must monitor trees that are currently owned by home owners. now they are proposing to increase the responsibility another 50%. i suspect if he did a cost- benefit analysis, it might be more expensive for dpw to start monitoring another 50% of the trees in the city as opposed to maintaining them. this is also a protective trust. when dpw planted many of these city trees -- and i know that this was the agreement reached on the above. they asked property owners for their permission to plan on their property on the condition that dpw would maintain the streets. suddenly, people will be hearing that that is not the case. i think that is terribly unfiar and -- unfair and not good politics. i also do not know if you have read the lead edito

westbound geary from gough street to webster.nd geary from divisadero all the way to gough street right in front of st. mary's cathedral. no. count webster street behind the cathedral is closed from penury up to ellis headed southbound periods the funeral is set to start at 12:30 p.m.. after the funeral services are over there will be a procession from st. mary's cathedral hot queen south on gough over to market and valencia. they will just across market street, head down valencia to fifteenth street, over to dolores and that major south down stretch. that is one of the best places to view the procession, dolores. do not forget, there is a wide grass median strip between northbound and southbound lanes. a perfect place for people to stand. south along dolores and then they will connect with san jose avenue and then on to 280 down to serramonte. reports and there will be a full freeway closure of interstate 280 on the southbound direction all the way down to the serramonte offramp. this could lead to backups on other streets. all
