one of the programs we operate is the richmond senior center, which is out on geary boulevard between 26 and 27th ave. i appreciate the opportunity to speak with you tonight. golden gate senior services is a non-profit agency and was established 37 years ago to provide services to seniors at about half the cost to the city if they were to provide similar services. we can do this because our salary scale is about half of what the city would pay for similar positions. we have a scaled-back health plan for our staff, and i'm ashamed to say we have no retirement for our staff. there are over 15,000 seniors in district 1, and the richmond senior center is full every day providing a full range of activities and lunch. each year we are asked to take budget cuts. in the past, supervisors have helped to restore some of these cuts. last year, mayor lee added money back to the department of aging. i appreciate and am grateful for this. for this upcoming budget, the human services agency and the department of a bold an aging services have submitted a budget to mayor lee with no cuts to service pr

geary boulevard. there was confusion earlier today when drivers tried to make the turn east on to geary from south bound park presidio. sign betweenlement and geary clearly indicated that 2 lanes of traffic dedicated to drivers wanting to turn left but there were conflicting signs at the intersection of geary and park presidio. detour indicating that this was the way to 101 south right above the no left turn no uchl turn sign. some drivers decided to avoid condition fution all together and commute to the city by ferry. the 5 55 to larkspur saw app increase of 55 people over an average friday. for some still a better choice than dealing with the doyle drive closure. >> you are on the ferry schedule which is different. can cause some conflict but over all l i think it's better for everybody. >>reporter: back here live at park presidio and geary. the sign that i mentioned earlier no left turn no u-turn just covered by traffic enforcement officials. we are letting people know also that they have motorcycle cop on standby. those not obeying the traffic enforcement officials will be stopped by sf pd. this is 7 news. >> good word of warn

in place between basically marina and lombard and the palace of fine arts and the golden gate bridge. you can still get there, it's going to be very crowded, though. the alternate geary boulevard or california a little further south. and those two roadways are very crowded as well as geary that will take you through japan town. it's going to be very crowded in the area. consider this, maybe you're going to go the other way. go to the bay bridge and get out of the city that way. eastbound 80 taking you up through berkeley and then emeryville and in through richmond across that bridge. that's 580 across to the north bay. that's an excellent reroute for you. and it'll add mileage but might save you some actual headache and time. if you head into the city for dinner as you're getting home for dinner back in the north bay, this will be something to consider. >> thank you very much. >>> well, a lot of people praying this morning for a boy named angel. right now 14-year-old angel perez in a medically induced coma at the hospital after being hit by a pickup truck in san jose. police say perez darted right into the intersection riding his bike. unfortunately, he was not wearing a helme
