more towards highway 128 to try to find a safer area away from the area but growing in the area off geers road. >> pete, we also know they're evacuating so many areas there. you've seen a lot of cars, a lot of people leaving the area. it's also in the middle of the night. >> reporter: right. by the time we got here, i saw maybe a handful of cars off highway 128 or in that area. not many. we saw some there. that was also about an hour before we got up to geysersville road. there's no one in the area. there's a mandatory evacuation order. people do have the choice to stay if they want to. we haven't seen many cars. there are a lot of wineries. those are some of the areas we're seeing where the actual fire is burning. not many homes that we can see at least at this point. >> pete, we've seen the size of this or heard about the size of this fire growing rapidly. talk to us about the winds as you were out there. >> reporter: i didn't notice much about the winds when we arrived but obviously they picked up a little bit. i don't know the miles per hour but it was enough where we were at the fire
