this is gemma.alcolm roberts to bring up. everybody liked gemma, she mixed with anybody, we just thought she were a normal kid, laughing and joking, she were lovely, she were. this is the first time the couple have talked about their foster daughter and the difficulties that started at an early age. she was a very troubled and a child that you couldn't reason with, a child that no matter what you said to her, she tried to get attention, whether it was good or bad. she were doing really stupid things, putting herself in danger, to the point where she was going to throw herself off the railway line. at 11, gemma was moved to a children's home, taken into care by rotherham council. now closed, this is one of the places where she was preyed on by men who claimed to be her boyfriend. it sounds like they plied her with money, goods, then drugs. and once they got hold of you with drugs, then every bit of your money that you get isn't your money, so you're owing to them all the time, and that is how it was.
