gena® ♪ ♪ >> stephen: hey, everybody.you changed your image of america? because while you'd been to the states and had great success here, you live here now. what was your image of america and now, what is it specifically in this moment of not only global but specific national crisis for america? >> well, growing up, america was this incredible place of optimism and joy and the american dream was something that i as a kid bought into. it was just this place where anything is possible, and i can remember so vividly-- i had never been to america until i did a play called "the history boys" on broadway, and i got to new york, and i walked from our apartments, on 56th street, and walked dn to timarand it was the fit time, and i feltere like i had been there 25 times before. it felt immediately familiar. i'm walking down broadway and just feeling like, oh, my god, anything is possible in this place. and i hang on to that. i hang on to it. i do, and i know-- i know that, at that point in my life and still in this point, i had n
