with us tonight, genevieve wood. you first tonight.t do you make of the slip by walker in the polls. has he gone too far to the right. >> talking about the polls, he's not officially declared yet, a number of the people have been declaring the past several weeks, we've seen all of them get a nice little bump and make the declaration, likely that scott walker would get the same thing. he's doing well in iowa he's been doing well in iowa for a long time if you look at scott walker's piece today, he debrunks what you just said about stuff under the obama economy and takes credit for good things that happened in wisconsin. as i said on your show before. scott walker has done what he's done being elected three times in four years. whatever the polls may say the voters have been given the opportunity to be for or against have been for him. >> the fact is wisconsin ranks 38th in job creation. the battle that he's having right now with republicans from his own party on the state. john nichols, how does that play out? the walker for president c

genevieve woods, senior contributor at the daily signal part of the heritage foundation and ron insana making his debut as a panelist this morning, and from urban radio network, april. i know you were up live and tweeting early. so you're paying attention to what the president was saying. what did you make of what he said? >> when traveling overseas he wants to make a point of human rights and talk about things that are current, particularly issues of women and girls. one of the things that he is really championing in washington and in the states. it was interesting to hear him talk about genital mutilation. he talked about that's not right and the crowd kind of -- they didn't clap as much on that one. that one came after the confederate flag issue. i was surprised to hear him bring up the confederate flag and talk about that as well as it relates to old traditions that don't bode well in either country, kenya or america. i thought the president carried on what he does. i saw an infectious crowd, so happy to see him. i mean he is a native son, to a certain extent. his dad is from kenya

joining us is heritage foundation's genevieve wood.e ratings will be spectacular. i got it. but you know, i'm not sure i'm going to learn that much about where the candidates want to take policy in america because everybody is -- everything is going to be about trump. not sure this will be success but those who want to hear policy as opposed to theater. >> yeah. i think you're right on that stuart. that's challenge even if trump wasn't in this, to have 10 people on a stage talking for an hour or 9-minute debate. it will be tough to get a lot of details period. look benefit here with trump that you will have more people watching than would ever watch something like this probably this early on. the downside is for those other nine that will be standing up there, they have no idea how to control this thing. that is what obviously makes it a bit engaging. stuart: you follow politics very, very closely, economic policy in particular. you're with heritage, i got it. what do you know about donald trump's policy positions? anything at all? >>
