geoff bennett is at the white house. what's the plan going forward? >> reporter: based on the news conference yesterday, steph, we have clarity on two issues, one being personnel, the other funding. start with personnel. as you mentioned, president trump announced vice president mike pence would lead the whole of government response to coronavirus. i am told president trump blindsided health and human services alex az ar who had been leading the coronavirus taskforce. all day yesterday, the white house said the president would not put in place coronavirus czar, even though republicans on capitol hill had been telling him to do that. ultimately, the president did decide that pence would lead the charge. pence reporting directly to president trump himself. we are told the kroens taskforce meets regularly, they're meeting today at health and human services. let's talk about funding. we have been talking all week how there had been a debate between the white house and hill about how much money would be needed to fully fund this response. the white house o
