fran townsend is a former homeland securdv president george w. bush. she is now a cbs news senior national security analyst. good morning. >> good morning. >> there are two other people seen on the surveillance tape. do we know anything about them? >> we don't. we know that there are law enforcement sources say that they're trying to identify them. i suspect, charlie, that that's part of the reason they've put out the alert about rahami. they have identified him or he may be the key to understanding or identifying who the other two are. >> how do you think they were able to identify him so quickly video? looking at him, if you don't know him -- >> that's right. there's a bunch of typical investigative steps. one they would have run license plates of all of the cars in the neighborhood that may have been picked up on surveillance tapes and they have released the car they think he's driving. i suspect that's part of it. they also would have dusted for fingerprints, the second unexploded bomb and that also might doctor have led to leads. >> does he look l

fran townsend is a former homeland security adviser to president george w. bush.he's now a cbs news senior national analyst. good morning. what do we know about motive? what do we know about why he selected chelsea? what do we know about a cell or pakistan? >> first of all, it's not clear he's connected to a cell. law enforcement is saying there's no evidence of that at this time, but they remind us it's early in the investigation. yesterday, they're saying why wouldn't isis claim responsibility we now know these ravnts and where he traveled to, charlie, it's equally likely he could have been affiliated with al qaeda, if affiliated with any group. and that's, of course, the focus of the investigation. and investigators are very interested in understanding where is the bomb factory. had made all of these devices. he would have had to accumulate stuff. the cell phone he acquired over a year ago. where was he constructing this stuff and why didn't anybody know. >> and did he have help? >> right. >> what are the options when you have a suspect saying i'm not talking?
