george conway has said this is a simple case to prove that could mean disaster for santos. do you think he's right? >> well, it's a simple fear-y. it's a simple premise. if i tell people i'm raising money, stephanie, to send you to summer band camp and i use the money for some other purpose, and i don't use it for, you i keep, and i spend it on myself, that's a fraud. that's an extraordinarily simple premise. proving it is another matter. you have to prove intent. we discuss that many times on your show. so simple crime based on a simple premise, but you still have to show intent. so we'll see what the evidence turns up. that's frankly why we do investigations. >> then, jacqui, if santos ends up in this legal hot water and has to leave congress, all republicans going to rue the day they didn't kick him out when they could beforehand? >> i don't think so, staff. you have seen new york republicans come out and call for his resignation. but what we have seen mccarthy been doing over the past few weeks is treading this fine line of not wanting to address it or alienate him too
