george papadopoulos. george, what do you think's behind this plot to ensnare you and the trump campaign in an alleged plot to cooperate with the russians? >> well, we have to look at the facts, and what the facts seem to suggest is that the obama administration was promoting a culture of espionage and targeting of political dissidents and opponents. i just happened to be working for a rival presidential campaign against hillary clinton, and we have reached the point where the obama administration officials like sally yates and rosenstein under oath are pointing the fingers at other subordinates and accusing them of being more involved than themselves and fabricating investigations into the trump campaign. so clearly, the obama administration at the highest levels must have been involved simply based on the types of characters the foreign governments involved and other activities that manifested themselves around myself, general flynn, paul manafort and even carter page. this could not have emanated from a low-level fbi agent like kevin klein smith or even workers like peter strzok or lisa page. this must have come from the top, and we now know based on declassified information that president obama and joe biden were directly involved in the una -- unmasking of general michael flynn and other campaign associates. we're till learning more about who that might have been. gerry: robert mueller says that, you know, it's fairly straightforward, you were told in the spring of 2016 that the russians had dirt on hillary clinton, and that was communicated ultimately to the campaign. and then we did see in the summer of 2016 a whole release through wikipedia about leaks from the democratic national committee, and they say, look, that's too much of a coincidence, right? here we have somebody telling the campaign or communicating to the campaign that the russians have dirt on hillary clinton, and a couple months later we see this is related to the public sphere. that does at least look like maybe there was something going on there that maybe needed to be investigated, isn't that right? >> no, let's look at just to be clear i never told anybody on the campaign what joseph misfud toll me about e-mails, and the attorney general himself has gone public and stated that whatever information was relied to this australian diplomat in london over a gin and on the thetic at the kensington wine rooms was not sufficient as a predicate to open either a counterintelligence investigation or a criminal investigation. and secondly, the information about e-mails and hillary clinton was widely speculated throughout the global media in the spring of 2016. for all i knew, joseph misfud was repeating a rumor. and what's very interesting and disturbing and why i think this australian has actually been interviewed by john durham is because what he suggested that i e told him that, oh, the russians have dirt on hillary, but i never used the word e-mails. yet somehow the e-mail narrative emerged spontaneously from these various meetings i was having. and that's exactly why i think these meetings are under scrutiny, because the theory now is whether this information was intentionally planted on me to see what i would do with it. and i never passed it along to the campaign. gerry: very, very quickly because we've got to wrap, an investigation by john durham, prosecutor, is looking into what role might the obama administration and the fbi and the justice department may have played. very, very quickly because we've got to wrap, what do you think, what are you expecting to come out of that investigation? >> i'm expecting criminal indictments. i think people are cooperating in this investigation. this investigation has been ongoing for over a year, high-level officials have been interviewed from various foreign governments, and now finally john brennan looks to be the final target, and he will be under the microscope as john durham interviews him in the coming weeks. gerry: chiang, thank you very much -- georgeu very much, indeed. much, indeed. up next, i'll be speaking with we love our new home. there's so much space. we have a guestroom now. but, we have aunts. you're slouching again, ted. expired, expired... expired. thanks, aunt bonnie. it's a lot of house. i hope you can keep it clean. at least geico makes bundling our home and car insurance easy. which helps us save a lot of money oh, teddy. did you get my friend request? uh, i'll have to check.
