i'm george howell. this is cnn newsroom. big details on this deal with iran and fears from israel and condemnation i should say over this deal, that they say does not curb iran's nuclear program. negotiators in switzerland announced the agreement on thursday. they now face a june 30th deadline for the final deal. but israel is blasting the agreement. prime minister benjamin netanyahu says it threatens that country's survival. his spokesman talked to cnn. >> we see this deal as very dangerous. we say this deal is a move in the wrong direction. the alternative to this bad deal is a good deal. a good deal is one that would actually restrict and dismantle the iranian nuclear infrastructure. a deal that demands real changes in iranian behavior. >> word of the agreement sparked celebrations in the streets of tehran. crowds saying in celebration at the prospect of sanctions coming to an end. but iran's foreign minister says the agreement won't end decades of mistrust. listen. >> we have serious differences wit

i'm george howell. a close-knit town in the state of illinois is cleaning up after devastating tornadoes killed two people and left widespread damage. two counties in the straight now disaster areas -- in the state are now disaster areas. ed lavandera has the story. >> reporter: the fire chief in fairdale, illinois, says tornadoes of this magnitude is not something they are used to. this storm did take a dead tlooel on this town. there are also amazing stories of survival. if you look behind me inside those two cars, there were three adults and three children when the tornado struck and thigh survived to tell the story. with terrifying ferociousness, tornadoes tore through chicago. >> i am scared to death of storm. i was watching everything. >> i feel like it's a bad dream. something i'd be watching somewhere else, not in my neighborhood. >> reporter: one tornado cut a 22-mile path through this flatland, the town of fairdale. a small dot on the map, but a tornado tore right through it. the town does hav

i'm george howell. >> and i'm natalie allen. you're watching cnn newsroom. >> you could say it's been a long time coming. nine years in the making. but now a frame work deal is done to keep iran from getting a nuclear weapon. negotiators in switzerland announced this preliminary agreement on thursday. >> iran would reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium. in exchange the u.s. and europe would lift sanctions against tehran. jim acosta has more from the white house. >> reporter: just when the iran nuclear talks appeared to be going nowhere fast, top diplomats revealed a potential breakthrough. moments later, out came the salesman in chief. >> the united states, together with our allies and partners, has reached a historic understanding with iran, which, if fully implemented, will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon. >> reporter: president obama sounded as if he was trying to convince the entire world that the deal now in place is the only practical way to block iran from nuclear weapons. >> iran is not going to simply dism

i'm george howell. this is cnn newsroom. >>> we begin this hour in the united states where tornadoes have been tearing through part of the midwest. you can see an example of it here. a huge twister ripping through a town in illinois. there's also confirmation of one death in fairdale, illinois. in aetna, kansas, storm chaser kelly williamson was able to shoot these images of a twister on the ground in that area. back in illinois, reporter lindsey clark with wrex tweeted these pictures, showing rescuers pulling out people trapped at a restaurant and home. these of course are just a few examples of the significant damage these tornadoes have caused across the region. the severe weather threat continues for many people at this hour. meteorologist derek vandam has been following it all. >> the video we just showed a second ago and the picture that came after it, one tornado was much wider than the other. but often people think that these large wedge tornados are the most dangerous and destructive. not alway

i'm george howell.ng cnns continuing coverage of the devastating earthquake in nepal. it is 3:15 p.m. in that country. here is what we know at this hour. several aftershocks have shaken the region in recent hours including a 6.7 magnitude earthquake. it comes a day after 2,000 people lost their lives in the original 7.8 earthquake. rescue crews are scrambling through the debris you see here, looking for any survivors they can find. a tour group called lost earth adventures had a team of people on mt. everest. the co-founder joins me on the phone in the united kingdom. thank you so much for taking time with us. what was the situation? what was it like for that group getting off the mountain? >> thank you for having me. it was quite taxing. obviously unexpected. we went up to everest base camp which is where the majority of the damage and avalanches occurred. we were in a safer area, really. for everyone involved, it was terrifying, really. >> sarah, i need you to clarify for me, you were not on the mount

i'm george howell. a volcano in southern chile has forced 1400 people from their homes.0 centimeters or ash in that area. >> reporter: these days all eyes on southern chile on the cabuco volcano. we finally made it in. >> reporter: the volcano erupted for the first time in 40 years on wednesday. a second eruption just a few hours later. now we work wour way closer to the still smoldering crater. past one, two -- three checkpoints to get into the zone. we are finally here, you can hardly breathe when you roll down the windows. the sheep, the cattle are left behind. they're trying to get them out now. if you just look ahead there are just clouds of ash wherever we go. this was one of the first towns evacuated. residents now allowed back for a short time to clean the ash off their houses and save what they can. the first thing we did was to grab the dogs and run, he says. now, we're cleaning up because it's going to rain soon and it will make the ash very heavy. friends and family scrambling to clean off roofs before they collapse under the weight. literally buckets of ash
