let's go first to msnbc's george soliz joining us from jacksonville. i understand you're outside the jacksonville sheriff's office. tell me what's happening today. >> yeah, alex, you can see there is a somber mood here in jacksonville, florida. we're expecting an update from sheriff dike waters, and some of the questions, of, course people want to know. they want to see if he will reveal the identity of the alleged shooter, as well as the victim. three tragically lost their life as a result of the shooting. we expect this to be a large press conference, with a lot of questions being asked. earlier at the scene, outside of the dollar general there, obviously you can imagine that it is a very large perimeter. police are still on the scene. they are not much activity, you can just feel how quiet and calm it is. this is a dollar general, they're sort of the only store, the only game in town, if you will. you can imagine, on any given day, they could be going in and out, picking up their essentials for their family. it is shuttered now as part of this polic

nbc's george soliz is in manhattan with the latest. ll us about the charges and the aftermath. >> hair and, you can see it is much different scene then we saw 24 hours ago when there were thousands of people came here, all because of that social media post announcing the three giveaways of gaming councils. you mentioned the social media influencer behind it all was charged, he was released overnight. police charging him with inciting a riot and unlawful assembly. police arrested more than six people, more than half them were arrested. buildings were damaged and riders to items at police. three officers were injured including one who received a hand injury and taken to the hospital. nypd officials say they were aware of this event. it quickly ballooned beyond their comprehension. they were able to remove from the crowd, but they say they encountered a lot of resistance. today spoke with people who were in attendance here, kind of caught in the middle of all that and say they really wish they have gotten gotten out sooner. >> it is so cra

george soliz is in jacksonville. what are we hearing now from the president? >> that's right. the president is weighing in after this horrific shooting here in jacksonville, the president saying, of course, the federal agencies are now involved. they are looking into this as a possible hate crime as well as an act of domestic terrorism here. extremism, rather. the president directly says that we must refuse to live in a country where black families are going to the store, or black students are going to school and live in fear of being gunned down because of the color of their skin. hate must have no safe harbor. scientists, complicity, we must not remain -- you can hear in the words how sensitive this has become because a lot of people are wondering what comes next? this was a racially motivated shooting in this community. predominantly in a black community carried out by a white shooter. and that brings us here to the sheriff's office where as you mentioned, there was a press briefing here with the sheriff who gave us some of the information that a lot of people. had they wan
