george spencer reports that suspect is now being held on $1 million cash bail. >> reporter: he said nothing to nbc 10's cameras this morning as he headed to the delaware county prison. just the day after authorities say he injured a deputy, one member of the law enforcement team at jones' house last night to arrest him on an outstanding warrant. >> it shows how dangerous it can be. >> reporter: delaware county sheriffs say he leads a squad that serves warrants each day. but last night at this apartment on mcdade boulevard, it appeared jones wasn't home. just as the officers and deputies were preparing to leave, they heard this front door crack open and saw jones coming out with a glass bottle that had liquid in the bottom and flames coming out of the top. they say jones tossed that molotov cocktail. >> i looked out my window and there's the sheriff on the ground. >> this coward from behind a closed door threw a bomb at unsuspecting young men who were doing their job. >> reporter: while his colleagues rushed to his aid, jones barricaded himself back in the house launch iing an hour-lg stand

george spencer was at the sale this morning. he has a look at what this means for families of the campers. >> reporter: for the next four to eight weeks, the current owners of cherokee day camp still have possession of this property, which means theoretically they can keep the camp operating through the end of summer. but after that, the road ahead for this decade's old day camp is not clear. walking out of the sheriffs sale this morning, attorneys for monument bank started the newest chapter for cherokee day camp. the bank bought back the property that's home to this kids spot after officials say the current owner fell far behind on payments. a neighbor sent his daughter to the camp 25 years ago under previous owners. >> it sounds like the end of an era. >> it probably is. for 30 years it's been a day camp. >> reporter: the sheriffs sale comes as parents and former workers are raising concerns about the recent management of the the camp itself. >> i witnessed a lot. >> reporter: jackie says she volunteered at cherokee day camp

nbc 10 investigative reporter george spencer live in center city. some pretty big reward money on the table for information leading to an arrest. >> reporter: that's right. those federal investigators announcing that significant reward this afternoon and the facts that they do now have significant leads in this case. they are confident that this arsonist is someone with an axe to grind, a resident of that building who has now set seven different fires there. nbc 10's cameras were on the scene just last night outside the sterling apartments on jfk boulevard for the most recent of those fires. that build cigarette a renovated luxury building with 1,000 residents. one bedroom apartments there start at $2,000 a month. atv investigators say this string of arsons back in mid-july. all fires were set in hallways and other common areas between the 5th and 9th floors. there's a $10,000 reward for information. >> any fire whether it's small, medium, large, it doesn't make a difference, anybody who intentionally tries to set a fire, especially in a large resid
