joe biden was born before donald trump, barack obama, george w. bush, and bill clinton.e's older than all of his four predecessors. he first entered national politics when richard nixon was president. i will say that's going to be a something that will be a challenge against him. i think he's more demonstrated any particular incident where he's been unable to fulfill the duties of the presidency because of his age not at least not in any way we've seen. but, yes, he does look old. he is old, and, you know, i think that's going to be something he'll probably have to carefully manage. he probably won't be campaigning quite in the same vigorous fashion as a younger candidate, and that could be to his detriment with a younger generation. >>> the newsroom has much more for you. the military has been expanding their presence in the arctic circle, an area vital importance to russia's defense strategy. we'll show you why. and an uncontrollable covid outbreak in china. how the country is faring after stripping back its zero covid policies. better. cough?h? fever? better. mucinex

the priorities for the government by deciding how you fund the government, and right up through george w. bush, the time i was majority whip in the house, the appropriating process took the most time of the congress. it was generally open to amendment and debate and public scrutiny and relatively small packages. and i think it's incredibly unfortunate that we've now in the multiple years sort of starting at the end of the first two years of the obama presidency when the congress changed the president said, no, i've got the phone and the pen and legislative activity as we've known it in many ways has stopped and a terrible situation every year there's a big bill. four leaders, two house leaders, two senate principal leaders, my view control way too much of that process. and surely they don't want to be in that position every year, but it's not a good position to be in. starting the new congress with a cr that expires, i think, is incredibly unfair to the next change and incredibly unfair to the next majority and the house and the senate vote and i hope we find a way to get our work done, but co

panel made up of two judges appointed by trump and one appointed by another republican president, george w. bushated its rule willing take effect in seven days, barring any intervention by the supreme court. trump could still appeal the ruling and request the order be put on hold. joining us now to discuss it is former u.s. attorney and msnbc legal analyst barbara mcquade. barbara, good morning. thanks for being with us today. first let's get your reaction to the ruling itself and its potential impact. >> yeah, i don't think this ruling surprised anybody in light of the argument that was heard in this case very recently and in light of the fact it was the same three-judge panel that gave partial relief to the government in the fall saying that at least with regard to the certain subset of classified documents, those had to go back over to the government and were outside the purview of the special master. so not a surprise, but really a very strong opinion that says that probably every lawyer in america knew except for judge eileen cannon that donald trump was not entitled to this kind of relief.
