george washington bridge is five minutes, trains are running on her close. spee1 problems were seen on the fdr's for fdr's for this story. an nypd officer was shot in the head during the chasing gunbattle last night. he died. he. he was responding to a call of shots but fired. robert moses is alive from east harlem. >> reporter: juliet and carrie, good money too. the reason why fdr remains closed in this area is because a police officers it is a very active crime scene. police commissioner has been in this line of work for 45 years, he says the worst part of the job is a mourning the loss of an officer killed in the line of duty. he says it never gets any easier. at about 8:30 p.m. last night officers responded to shots fired near east 100 second street and first avenue. >> he ran towards danger. it was to that call. commissioner witnesses told responding officers that several men lead north on the footpath. one victim told cops that his bike had been dolan at gunpoint. officers were on the lookout for suspect with a bike and i found him riding north on fdr.
