so this has been very challenging for georgetown. gw solution, they grabbed mt. vernon, they were instantly able to add women's lacrosse, field hockey. looks great on paper. adding space really challenging for a lot of schools and the alternative has been that a lot of schools have to rent space on other schools's campuses so this is literally and figuratively a turf war. there's always lots of reasons why it's hard to be in compliance with title ix. how do you find the space, the money, and so forth? okay. so let's look at a couple of examples of where the spirit seems to be lacking. there's a lot of things that could be done that cost nothing to improve women's access to sports that have never been done. and i'll give you a few examples. one of the most frustrating aspects is often women find their games just aren't advertised. no posters, no anouxts, and you know, there's the example a pa system in a middle school but there's also college game day. a couple of years ago i noticed for home coming week, every parent at georgetown got a letter from the university

women have separates and here we are with an object lesson at georgetown, right. the women's gym is where the women play basketball. guys play somewhere else, right in the women's gym at any university was usually very far away from the men's. it often didn't have a lot of central facilities that the men enjoyed. for instance, a swimming pool, a, you know, whirlpool bath or a steam room or anything like that. that was usually in the guys' locker room area and women would be banned from utilizing that because they would have to walk through the man's locker room. the fact is even though women's athletic programs were very substandard and often women had, to you know, have a bake sale to get volleyballs, at least women had control, so you might be surprised to know that there were a lot of female educators who were very anxious about title 9 because they were aware that with integration comes the loss of separate leagues, okay. we see that when jackie robinson comes up to the majors, the old negro league slowly lose their best players and their fans and that's where
