so some of my teaching at georgetown university is that in order for nuclear weapons to happen, there is a band side that has to come together. on the supply side, they must have the ability to build nuclear weapons, and on the demand side, they must have the will to produce them. in the book i talk about the supply and demand. first let's talk about the supply. in order to build nuclear weapons, iran has to do three things. first it has to acquire enough weapons material to form the core of the nuclear device to fuel it. that can be highly enriched plutonium. second they have to be able to form that in an explosive device, a nuclear warhead. and third, they have to have a way to deliver that to the opponent, launch ballistic missiles are the platforms that advanced nuclear powers use. so some people look at that timeline, those three things and say, well, we have years to sofe solve this problem. but that's misleading, because really all that matters is the third stage. right now the united states, the international community, if necessary, could take military action, could destroy t
