still now just to the southeast of dallas, texas and there's a large plume of gulf moisture now across much of alabama and georgiarain there, that moisture is going to be coming in our direction, and we have a very weak weather front that's going to start introducing the cold air, here we go, through tomorrow, as early as 9:00, 10:00 tomorrow. then the snow line inches its way up through the washington area, and then quickly pulls right back out of here and sunshine is back in for monday. how about snow around here? nothing going on through the overnight hours, sunday services, no problem at all. by 4:00 tomorrow afternoon, that's when the snow starts to sneak its way into the area, and if we get any steady snow, it will be between 4:00 and 11:00 tonight. amounts maybe as much as an inch or two in the northern suburbs, one to three down to the south and west. so overnight tonight, clear and quiet, chilly but not cold, overnight lows in the 30s, and then for tomorrow, cloudy, cold, breezy, snow likely, beginning mid to late afternoon tomorrow, and all gone before you get up on your presidents day holiday on monday

satellite picture radar combined, we'll zoom down to the gulf coast, pretty big thunderstorms pulling out of alabama into georgiathe panhandle of florida, precipitation pretty far south of us in southwestern virginia and also southern west virginia. as we go through the night into tomorrow morning it could get in here by dawn tomorrow. so especially south of town you folks in culpeper and fredericksburg may have a wet commute. these are monster storms just north of panama city entering southwestern georgia. we'll kind of move up and here's where the precipitation. is it's raining in roanoke and will slowly move north and east, give us a glancing blow. in other words, you folks up in frederick probably won't see any rain at all. 63 now in arlington, 60 bethesda, 61 rockville. upper 50s in gaithersburg, 61 great falls, still 61 in andrews. we'll cool down a bit, but still going to remain mild, dry evening commute, wet morning commute south of town, still mild thursday and a very nice finish friday. by midnight tonight maybe some rain, d.c. south, certainly down toward fredericksburg. we'll put this into motion. no

gulf coast. an area of pressure beginning to develop. it's going to move into northern georgia, through the carolinas. off the coast of north carolina. the important issue here is we don't know exactly where that path is going to end up. if it's a little closer to virginia, rather than down across the southern north carolina, we'll be in more more precipitation and that will be more snow, heavier precipitation, up able to drag down some cold air. we will see some accumulating snow. but if it hugs the coast of south carolina, we may not see much of anything at all. right now 50/50 chance we'll either get some accumulating snow. early on sunday, we'll have a much better feel. for the time being clear skies to our north and a few showers. that is not going to affect us locally. but it may affect northern areas. this cold front with colder air if the cold air can get in place and the moisture moving up into that cold air, theirs will be safe. the accumulating snow, maybe one to 3-inches across the region with more of the south. portions of virginia already in a winter storm watch.

gulf of mexico. a lot of moisture down in georgia this morning.hen some snow, places like cincinnati seeing an inch of snow, mainly grassy surfaces this morning. that's moving up toward pennsylvania, new york state but around here as we look pretty quiet, a lot of this just drying up. the lower levels of the atmosphere kind of dry so it's evaporating. we'll go through the middle of the day. noontime maybe a shower down toward the northern neck. could even be a few sunny breaks. a couple of showers possible here and there this afternoon into the evening hours before this starts to pull away tonight. tomorrow the sun returns. then that california system moves in thursday. i do want to tell you though by the time we get toward sunday, we're looking at the potential for a coastal storm to develop. if that happens sunday could turn wintry around here. today 52, isolated shower later this afternoon and this evening. tomorrow partly to mostly sunny. we start in the 30s. we finish in the low to mid- 50s. thursday upper 40s with light rain likely on thursd

of the pit of the disturbance in the northeastern gulf will be spreading showers in the far southeast. oyster down there, especially in southern georgiad, pacific storm system diving into the northwest, and this dives into the southeast by wednesday. it might be further north than we have shown here but there will be an area of snow in the northern section with rain further to the south. this will be away system through the middle of the week as it moves through areas from the mississippi valley to the east coast. the next storm system coming into the pacific northwest was not zealous and rain across the coast. the air is cold enough in the pacific northwest that even the ballads are seeing the fair amount of snow buggy systems. but that system is coming into the pacific northwest and two sections as we head into friday and that will be causing brain and much of the northwest, but another system coming into the pacific northwest as you can see. friday will be the dry day up and down the eastern seaboard. we will check in with their forecasts coming up in the next half-hour. it was almost obligatory that i drone on about gasoline price

gulf of mexico. this is expected ecipitation. much-needed rain to georgia. that serious drought here. all across the south. they're going to get 1 to 2, maybe 3 inches of rain down there. this area of low pressure is going to head down to our south, off the carolina coast by sunday. now, it's going to spill moisture above it, into our region. now, to our north, there's a weak frontal system that may be just enough cold air by the afternoon, and later, particularly, that any precipitation that moves into our region, probably starts with some rain, mixes with snow. and starts dragging down some colder air from aloft. and then we may see several hours of snow, sunday afternoon, sunday night, before it quits. we talked about maybe a 1 to 3- inch accumulation for most of the region. heaviest is going to be down across portions of southwest virginia, where it's going to be colder. and the higher elevations, particularly, will enhance that precip. some areas here will see 5 to 7 inches of snow. eastern shore, i think we'll see rain. maybe even 2 to 4 inches of snow south of us. north of us,

coast, the rain is isolated as southern georgia in northern florida may skirt through areas of south carolina. down along the texas coast, moisture returning off the gulf is going to cause you cloudy skies with a chance of showers also. the snow from last night is ending up there if wisconsin. so, the stage is being set. looks like we have a pretty good snowstorm to deal in the plains. looks like even on wednesday, areas of new england you'll get snow and sleet and ice out of this storm too. cold air is now in place. 13 in billings. plenty cold enough now in the northern plains. we have a blizzard watch. this could be one of our first real blizzards of the winter season. we're mostly talking dakotas. minneapolis has a chance of 6 to 12 inches. it's go to be a close call to see fitz all snow or snow mixed with sleet and ice. as far as snowfall totals, 6 to 12 inches through the plains and then into wisconsin. green bay could get a good snowstorm. michigan is going to be messy, an ice storm for areas of grand rapids and north of detroit. today, beautiful weather, carolinas northward. rainy along the southern half of the country. we'll wait for that snows
