gerge rask will give us an update and a couple of minutes.eorge: a truck fire has completely shut down 101 southbound in san francisco. but you are looking at some of the emergency vehicles right at the site of the closure. the location is right here. there is no movement on the inbounds essential or the westbound skyway. here is a look at one of the fire crews that is dealing with this incident. this is craig skalar live on the scene. there are a number of emergency vehicles here at ups at the hospital curved and this great dealing with it from the street down below. originally reported as an overturned tanker. the tanker truck could have overturned but it is not the tanker itself that caught fire, it appeared to be the cab of the vehicle. the cab fire appears to have been extinguished. there is a multi car crash that has to be contended with. it will be some time before this reopens. i spoke with california highway patrol. they have told me that there is a plan in place to put a hard closure on traffic through the city including the bay bri

>>justine: team coverage of last night's amtrak collision, gerge rask will tell us how this is impacting the commute. >>george: it is likely to have little if any impact on the commute. for passengers taking amtrak, if you would normally depart from the jack london station, they will be put onto a ferry and taken to the nearest station which is emeryville. the bus bridge will likely cause them no more time. capitol corridor trains that might have stopped there will also be stopping in emeryville and then it be bused from emeryville to the jack london station. the question is whether or not this will have an impact on the capitol corridor commute. in other traffic, as we start at or bridge check, your ride on the bay bridge is free and clear. no problems or delays. the san mateo bridge looks good as well. there is a shot westward from the toll plaza. the right heading across the golden gate bridge, 101 southbound is also clear. you can see the trucks moving the pylons over adding a fourth lane to the southbound direction. >>george: this is a westbound interstate 80 and southbound 680 and

gerge rask is tracking a hot spot. the 40 5:00 a.m.. we have been tracking a hot spot. interstate 680 on the right. an earlier recurring problem is the reason for the delay. things have suddenly just cleared out. we watched minor improvements and now the accident at marina vista has been cleared of of the freeway. the 680 ride southbound into walnut creek is a very quickly getting back to normal. it is no longer a hot spot. we are slower than normal here. that is the ride on interstate 80. we are looking at a 32 minute drive time westbound. it should be closer to 24. it is not a much of the difference.--it is not that much of a difference. no need to bill all of the freeway. on the bridges, conditions were improving one last we checked. your san mateo bridge ride has been a problem free all morning long. the drive times are still only 14-15 minutes into foster city of hayward. the golden gate bridge ride, 101 southbound is shrouded in fog but no delays or problems. the drive time in marin county is between 39-42 minutes from 37 to the toll plaza of the golden gate bridg

gerge rask has the latest. >>george: that was video from a few moments ago when they actually totaled one of the tankers away. it is a set of doubles. here, you can see what is left. this tanker has to be righted. these were some and tanks. they managed to spill some of the cement onto the roadway. it appeared to be dry. this was the direction of travel. this has turned around 180 degrees or more. this was really a bad accident. this truck completely flipped around and pointed in the wrong direction. a flatbed truck was just brought to the scene. they are likely going to have to separate these two units. the next exit is army cesar chavez. they will probably have to load that on to the flatbed truck that was brought to the sea. the next operation is to get this unit back on its wheels and then, they will have to deal with the cab. and there was a public affairs officer on the scene that actually estimated the time of a reopening at noon. that is the only report we have heard so far. my guess is this will be out
