let's go to gerri willis with the numbers. and it looks like from here the stock is taking a beating talk to us about this. reporter: the company is taking a beating, lowering guidance for full year. adjusted ebitda 6.5 billion. below last year as levels. adjusted eps in a range between 1.20 and $1.32. all about forward guidance where the stock is going right now. for the quarter they're reporting tonight, eps and revenues a beat, 34 cents a share versus 26. revenue of 37 billion versus expectations of 33.98. that looks pretty darn good. they are saying that they see signs of improvement in their business in china. the detail there, they're making country-specific products for china. new country focused products they say at the same time, lowering costs, strengthening their dealer networks there. company tells us they have product renewal in north america. ford explorer, lincoln aviators, here is what is coming, new f-series super duty trucks. it would appear to be good news tonight for the report, the earnings report but look

melissa: gerri, thank you. >> you're welcome.r one to look at nokia absolutely plummeting. cutting earnings out look for this year and 2020. citing fierce competition from 5g rivals, that includes huawei. that was the reason for the profit warning, five f. i spoke to a top huawei executive, i talked about the rollout of 5g globally. here is what he had to say. >> i think we have the right schedule for the 5g roll out globally. many of the countries we have already tested. they know huawei products. for that reason we cooperate with many countries and also partners for 5g rollout globally. connell: here now is russell holly, mobile nation senior editor. basically a three-way competition. nokia, ericsson, and you have huawei. if you have nokia, your stock got killed today, this is expensive, tough to compete. it would be tough to compete for all the issues that it has, blacklisting or anything else with a company heavily subsidized by the government. what do you make of the competition for 5g? >> i think the competition is best thi

melissa: let's go with gerri willis with more on this. gerri. reporter: the dow ends up half a percent at 150. all three major indexes higher. the big winners though today, goldman sachs, caterpillar, apple, home depot, 3m. big moves. they account for half the dow's gains. we really watched apple all day long. we were hoping break through to an all-time high of $232 a share. it came very close but didn't quite make it. apple shares higher after cowan analyst said it was on track to sell 7 million more iphones than anticipated in its december quarter. that could drive eps 9% higher. also rising higher, goldman sachs, caterpillar of course, higher on these china trade conversations. one of the stocks always moved on this. goldman sachs financials are the second best sector even though we're expecting rate cuts. one of the traders telling me we know now what is baked in when it comes to rates. also home depot, 3m. 3m a big stock moved on all these trade rumors t was moving as well today. melissa, back to you. melissa: gerri, thank you. connell: fac

melissa: gerri, thank you. the final results from the united auto workers vote is expected any minute. grady trimble with more. reporter: we just learned report the united auto workers, gm employees approved the tentative agreement effectively ending the 40-day strike all the 50,000 voters, workers had the opportunity to vote on the contract throughout the week with voting ending today. we don't have official numbers because voting closed at 4:00 eastern. this was kind of expected by general motors stock. it has been climbing all day today. it is up 2 1/2% at the close. the people who like this contract, the workers who voted in favor of it, said hey, this gives us pay increases. our health care costs stay the same. we get an 11,000-dollar signing bonus there were people who weren't quite happy of happy of it. it didn't do enough to protect american jobs. it confirmed the closure of three plants. the signing bonus might have swayed workers. they lost $6,000 of lost wages while out on strike. that signing bonus
