earlier i spoke to dr elly mccausland, who will teach the course — she told me why students at ghent universityk of her career. she's packing out stadiums. her tour has been in the news, you know, barely a day goes by where she's not making headlines. so it seems very timely to start thinking about, you know, why, what is the reason behind the success? but actually, i've been thinking for quite a long time, for several years about the connections between swift's music and english literature and sort of especially during the pandemic. in 2020, when she released folklore and evermore, a lot more attention began to be paid to the increasingly literary quality of her work. and i started thinking about parallels with a number of texts from english literature, and ijust sort of thought, you know, this is something that we should be discussing. we should be thinking about more. and so the time seemed right to put it into practice, to create a course about it. i've just got to ask, whatjob prospects can you have after this course? well, this is one one course within an entire masters degree in english
