you're going to need a jacket this morning, 39 degrees around livermore, 37 in gilroy and we do haveome upper 30s around the north bay. so your weather headlines, a chilly start, 30s and 40s for the morning and some fog and haze. temperatures on the coast may be as warm as the mid 60s and no sign of rain here. the culprit here is a ridge of high pressure, which is just holding its position, it set up last weekend and it's going to continue to set up for a while. today the ninth dry day in a row, and it looks like we're going to be adding at least a few more days with this. the midway point of the rain and snowfall season, we do need a little more rain and snow. high pressure keeping us dry with, again, those big waves out on the coast and some hazy sunshine today, and for the next few days, that storm track is going to stay way off to the north. things are going to stay dry all the way into the start of february, so maybe just two weeks or maybe even more of dry weather around the bay area. here's a look at your temperatures today, pretty pleasant as you're headed outside. 67 san jos

this one involved in a hit and run that injured a young girl in gilroy. police found the girl lying in the road on ren avenue and maria way around 5:45 last night. the victim was taken to a local hospital for significant injuries that are not life- threatening. the driver is described as an hispanic william with -- woman with possibly died blonde hair. anyone with information is asked to contact gilroy police. >>> it was supposed to be a routine traffic stop but it e nded in a deadly confrontation. now, san pablo police are investigating why the suspect tried to run. kraig debro has more in this report. >> reporter: it all started around 8:15 last night. a san pablo officer signaled the driver after 1990 honda accord to stop. the honda pulled into a gas station just off the san pablo dam road exit. when the officer went to check the license of the driver, she and the man in the passenger seat got out of the car. the passenger began to run. the suspect ran around the back of the gas station with the officer in hot pursuit. now, either before or after this

i saw 55 at gilroy. 52 mountain view. 52 san rafael. there is a lot, we started the week off with 20s and 30s remember? most people forget. the system came by pretty quick and left some rain around 11:00. santa rosa a third of an inch. there were heavier amounts. half inch covered it. quarter of an inch petaluma. san jose .06. sfo, san francisco about a tenth of an inch as well. they made it. it left behind a lot of low clouds. once we get the sun, we are already this warm. 22 in tahoe. 30 in reno. 40s in the valley. 56 already in l.a.. the jet stream the storm track is heading north. way north. the only thing that could happen to us is clipping us with high clouds or coming over the ridge. there is a lot going up in the pacific northwest. the end result would be fog and warmer. there are pockets it could be thick. upper 50s to mid 60s. the five-day forecast we have taken care of the rain. partly sunny and cloudy saturday. and then night and morning fog. if that burns off soon enough it will be sunny and warmer. >> european markets open
