you can see widespread rain all the way through gilroy and in monterey area as well.rsday by about 1:00, the second storm system is also expected expected to bring a good amount of snow for the sierra. now, as we head into saturday, we see that that storm system is still kind of lingering and hanging around. as far as rain totals, as of right now, this storm system doesn't look to be as big as the last storm system, but judging by some of these rain totals, you can see anywhere between 0.5 to just over 1 inch of rain for monday and if i take this time line through friday, we see that the north bay gets hit with about another inch of rain. so a good amount of rain expected from both of these systems. as far as is sierra forecast, from that first initial storm through the second one, by wednesday, 5:30 p.m., you can see anywhere between 6 to 9 inches of snow expected. mostly for the higher elevation areas above 6,000 feet. over the next seven days, a quick look at what you can expect. again, today and tomorrow, we're going to keep nice right conditions, slightly warmer

we got so many calls from people who felt the earthquake as far south as gilroy. we felt it in the newsroom and many of you described it to us as strong. this morning we talked with someone from the us geological survey about the potential of a bigger earthquake. >> 5% of the time earthquakes are followed by larger earthquakes. there is a low probability but there is some probability this was a fourth shock to a bigger event. honestly it would not be a big surprise if we had a big earthquake on the hayward fault. the last big earthquake was 1868 and we are about the 800 -- 150th anniversary. we know that big earthquakes happen about every 150 years. so people like me think that a large earthquake is probably the most likely to occur in the bay area in the near future. >> as of this morning there has been one aftershock reported but officials say that more could be happening. >>> we got a lot of messages on social media about the earthquake. beverly said i felt it strongly in san carlos and it was proceeded by a rumbling noise. the house then jerked from side to si
