yesterday in gilroy left the 92 year old man dead and a 16 year old boy in custody. police say the victim was on a mobility scooter. when he was hit by a car at first street and rent avenue. that was about 5 30 yesterday afternoon evening. witnesses were able to identify the suspect vehicle and police tracked down the driver using a newly installed camera system. the teenager now faces hit and run and vehicular manslaughter charges in plaster county. the mosquito fire continues to grow. tonight's update from cal fire shows that fire has now burned more than 63,000 acres. that's about 98 square miles containment is holding at 20% more than 6000. people remain under a vacuum ation orders tonight and we're hearing from an el dorado county deputy tonight who rescued a couple from their home near the mosquito fire. the car wouldn't work. it wouldn't run and they were stuck. so they all made a harrowing escape together. reporter melanie wingo has this story. thursday of last week got off to a slow start for el dorado county sheriff's deputy jeremy buckman. we had a relativ
