so this entire region right now from gilroy, morgan hill, westward over into the santa cruz mountains and there has been some thunder and lightning mixed in there. but right now things are beginning to calm down just a bit. this is a level one storm still on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale for tonight. we expect the intensity of the storm to continue diminishing, but there will be some scattered showers, maybe some brief isolated downpours and still a chance of an isolated thunderstorm or two. forecast animation starting at 6 p.m. shows that the most active weather will remain in the south bay. while there's a chance of a light shower somewhere else. but most of the remainder of the bay area will see calm weather tonight. however, overnight in the middle of the night, we'll see a little line of showers reaching down from the sacramento area southwestward through the central part of the bay area, but it won't amount to much and it should be all over by about 6:00 tomorrow morning, leading us into calm and at least partly clear conditions for the start of easter sunday. right

gilroy santa rosa could be some of the warmest locations.g to take some time for the fog to pull back though, and then we'll look at a level one system on friday lasting through the first weekend of spring. so beneficial rain headed our way. we are above average everywhere except for oakland at 86% of average, and looking at over 32in of rain in santa rosa. so we're doing well. not as good as we were compared to last year, but if we look at the snowpack, 28% in january, theory right now, 104% of average, and we'll be adding to these totals because the next incoming system, several of them , they're going to be cold coming from the pacific northwest. and we could see maybe a foot of snow or more in the sierra nevada. this is very preliminary. and by about wednesday or so, we'll really fine tune the numbers. but we are looking at about maybe a half inch to three quarters of an inch more in the north bay as we get into that friday system and into next weekend. highs today, 70 in oakland should be in the low 60s, 74 in fremont. look for mid 70s

let me get you in to street level radar where we are seeing some downpours right now around gilroy, san martin, monterey boulevard. as we press in a little bit closer here, some of the rainfall rates in this area, just over an inch per hour. you can see why there would be some minor flooding on the roadways around the peninsula, from half moon bay into belmont, portola valley street level radar. you will notice burlingame skyline boulevard getting some light to moderate showers, and it's the same story in parts of the north bay, as well as some parts of san francisco. as we take you back in time, some severe thunderstorms developed off the monterey bay coastline, and there has been a warning from the weather service that if those storms form water spouts are not out of the question. we certainly have a flood advisory down for parts of the monterey bay until 8 p.m. tonight, as flooding is a concern. so if you are traveling down there, keep that in mind. gusts to 37 in oakland earlier it was 61 mile an hour gusts at the oakland airport wind advisory until 5 a.m. tomorrow, 45 to 50 plus mi

we are seeing showers on san jose down to gilroy on 101. we do have some heavier rainfall to the north of the bay area. and we actually are going to be seeing some thunderstorm development likely along this path of cloud cover as we work our way through the morning here over the next few hours, some of that convection will spread further to the south and the rest of the bay where we're sitting in the sierra nevada snow continues to pile up. blizzard conditions are in effect right now. and snow is only going to increase in intensity through the day. what we have in the bay is our own thunder storm potential. as you can see, those pockets of heavy rain for the north bay through the morning and a chance of those thunderstorms spreading southward through the rest of the day. on through sunday. we'll continue to see strongly advise avoiding mountain travel, 0 visibility up there because of the blizzard conditions were talking about 75 to 80 miles per hour. wind gusts in the sierra are going to contribute to. i'm just roadways that are completely

it's a 37 and in the south bay, there's an investigation underway in gilroy because a man's body wasire broke out erday morning in an alley on rosan seet near the gilroy city hall. some nearby residents evacuated. and then once they put the fire out, they found the body. they don't know anything at. they're investigating. >> well, as california grapples with a projected multi-billion dollar deficit. we have state lawmakers now meeting to try and find a solution, a nonpartisan legislative analyst's office has estimated the gap is 73 billion dollars much more. then the 38 billion governor newsom projected the proposed solution for this attacks on healthcare services that would change how the state works with managed care organizations ceos, as they're called kaiser and blue shield and the like currently they're contracted to provide services to medical patients and then the reimbursed from the state's general fund. now, if the mco tax increase plan is approved, the federal government would help fund that reimbursement supporters say could create up to one and a half billion dollars in

capitola morgan hill south of 101 and gilroy. some scattered showers, so that's an improvement, right? if we're looking to dry out today, we've got the scattered showers. could see a downpour at times, but overall we are drying out. looking at a few showers for your monday and i'm just talking a few level one system. and then by wednesday, thursday, friday dry conditions, sunnier and milder weather headed our way. so hour by hour this is 7:00 and you'll see that we have a smattering of showers around the bay stopping this at 330. and you'll notice from the coast, san francisco, maybe up towards san rafael and san jose. a few showers, but as we go into the overnight hours, kind of quiet, right. and then into monday, a lot of cloud cover, maybe a shower or two. this is tuesday. a system wants to drop out of the north, and then it's not really until tuesday night where we see this next system tuesday into wednesday, dropping maybe another 10th of an inch of rain. so that's the more significant system on the way compared to what we'r

if you look closely around morgan hill and gilroy there's a chance of pop up showers of around and we may see a few isolated showers around the north bay for tomorrow afternoon. and then drier and warmer weather as we head into monday and tuesday. temperatures are chilly for the early-morning easter egg runs. we will have mid 40s. by the afternoon highs near the mid 60s in san francisco. mid 60s in san jose. at least for today appearance we have spring temperatures returning to the forecast. low 70s around san jose on monday. mid and upper 70s by tuesday. wednesday temperature start to cool down again. that's the second half the week. you are looking at the right there on the seven-day forecast there is high pressure giving a spring preview of temperatures in terms of warmer temperatures. there is the opportunity for bay area rain at times and likely sierra snow. that will continue into next weekend. more snow for next saturday, maybe less. right there, sunday evening, more rain coming back in. in case you have been keeping score, 85% of the weekends have looked like that was showers
