all nine justice came to agreement, justice thomas, gorsuch, ruth bader ginsberg but apparently usednt parts of the copstution to come to this conclusion. so what does that mean ultimately they have to maybe decide on pure civil forfeiture case? >> yeah. it was interesting that although it was a 9-0 decision, thomas and gorsuch provided legal rationale in their concurrences that were slightly different than ruth bader ginsberg majority. all that mains for future appellate cases they can potentially argue separate legal questions under the theories of the concurrences which basically said under the 14th amendment's privileges and immunities clause that there should be protection for citizens private property but with the due process clause that justice ginsberg was referring to, that will be the majority holding this is a win-win for private citizens. certainly the state should not be able to seize private property without due process. i would agree with thomas and gorsuch, that the 14th amendment is sound legal rationale. charles: when ever this topic comes up, i say get me matt welc
