here's abc's transportation correspondent gio benitez. >> reporter: tonight, a close call captured on camera over orlando international airport. >> no, no, no. >> reporter: watch. a single-engine cessna flies over the airport, just as the delta 757 takes off, within just hundreds of feet from the cessna, according to its pilot malik clarke. >> for an aircraft that is climbing at something like 40, 30 something feet per second -- that's pretty close. >> reporter: the video, just on obtained exclusively by abc news but shot two weeks ago, captured clarke making a last-minute ma maneuver to avoid the jet. >> i knew that this didn't look right. immediately, i turned right, and i climbed as deeply as i could, and they were headed straight for us. >> reporter: clarke had taken off from a nearby runway. air traffic control directing him to overfly where the delta flight was taking off. delta tonight telling abc news that it is "aware of these reports" and "is investigating. nothing is more important than safety." early flight data shows the planes were at one point about 0.3 of a mile apart
