it's a real test for governor glenn youngkin. has turnout strategy and the republican agenda here to see if they can control both houses of the legislature to push that agenda through the state government. what you have got here is governor glenn youngkin who has visited fredericksburg, this district a number of different times over the past several weeks. he was here campaigning yesterday. it was one of his six stops he made to polling locations today. six total locations for the governor, about 156 miles when you talk to his team. on top of all that, you've got the governor down in richmond watching right now and has really been campaigning on the economy. republicans have also been campaigning on a number of different issues like public safety, education. democrats have hit abortion and hit gun control. on abortion the 15 week plan that republicans have two try to curb abortions after 15 weeks is something that they have really focused on in this state. they brought a lot of outside help to do and a lot of outside money to do.

glenn, i'll start with you. as much as i love this sort of kindle and roman thing they have going on when they go to trial here, it seems to me like i can't tell if this is a strategy or it's just eric trump doesn't know any better. do you think there is some sort of larger plan with the trump brothers where one is like, i'm going to play the jerk, and you're going to play the guy who is slightly more sophisticated? are they hoping that will change the penalties and fines they face, or are they just acting in their personalities? >> nobody will accuse these characters of being tactical geniuses, because what they should have done is plead the fifth and go home. listen, as you already pointed out, judge engoron has already ruled against trump and company on liability, and now the question is, how much will they have to disgorge, how much of the ill gotten gains they have courtesy of their fraud should they have to give back? but the other thing in the mix here is will they be prohibited, essentially, from doing b

glenn, my friend, like i said, doj not taking a day off on thanksgiving, making sure the d.c.rt of appeals understands the ramifications of a trump gag order being lifted. but let's talk about this for our viewers, because i think it's important for us to lay the groundwork for this conversation. it's the d.c. court of appeals going to take notice at all or pay attention at all to what this filing was, because it is in another case? it's in the new york a.g.'s case. >> that's a great question, katie. i believe they probably will. there is a vehicle in the rules to bring this kind of information before the court. the court can't accepted or rejected, but you know, i sat through the argument earlier this week in the d.c. court of appeals case, regarding the constitutionality of the gag order. there was discussion about what was going on in other jurisdictions. similarly, judge chutkan was presiding over the trial in donald trump's case, has regularly talked about what's going on in other jurisdictions. so i think this evidence will probably be accepted by the applet court. and d

glenn youngkin was the face of this. he worked closely with susan b anthony list.e antiabortion movement try to rebrand itself. there were not going to be bans but limits and compromises. 15 weeks was supposed to be this compromise. a 15 week ban in mississippi got us to the dobb's decision in the first place and mississippi is living under a total abortion ban and has been for about a year and a half. i think we can chalk this surprising success of the gubernatorial candidate there partly up to that reality. they have not forgotten about dobbs. but we saw this strategy of the 15 week compromise fall on its face in virginia because voters saw through it. they understood and abortion ban is a ban. this was a crucial part of the republican strategy to rebrand themselves after the dobbs decision. i think they're going to want to abort that strategy. i don't see that happening in the next 15 weeks. i think they're going to have to carry it to turn or at least until the next election in 2024. the other signature republican strategy was off on its face is in kentucky whe

so for glenn youngkin to come out and say listen, the far left is extreme on abortion, he's correct. and there are far more extreme versions of abortion than a 15-week ban. that's also correct. we'll see if that works for a lot of the suburban women voters for whom abortion is going to be the number one issue driving them out to the polls in states like virginia and ohio today. >> there are few, maria, if any democrats on the ballot today who have tied themselves to the ballot, right? that's just the fact here. the president hasn't campaigned with anyone. michigan congresswoman debbie dingell thinks this is the wrong approach. let's listen to what she says. >> we've got to do a better job of talking about what we have gotten done during this first term. if joe biden doesn't run well, you're not going to run well. so let's start giving him credit for what he has done. we all have to do a better job of talking about what has gotten done because of joe biden's leadership. >> if anything i've learned covering politics, it's that you should probably listen to debbie dingell if you are a d

. >> and let's talk about glenn youngkin. not on the ballot himself this time, but he is definitely staking his political future on the results. and as we kind of outline, basically we're looking to see do republicans take total control of the state legislature in virginia in a way that would potentially as you alluded to allow them to pass an abortion ban. we've talked about how important that is. youngkin said if we succeed, i'll think about running for president. he wants to see what happens in virginia first. if things do go well for republicans in virginia, i mean, i have no doubt that there will be a little bubble of talk about what is glenn youngkin going to do, is he going to get into the primary race. but i'm not sure it will made a difference in a republican field that has seen donald trump dominant basically throughout. what are you looking for from the virginia governor? >> i mean, we are looking to see if he is successful by taking this, you know, the credit in the flip if there is a flip that he would have to im

this is bad for glenn youngkin. it's not, the fact glenn youngkin won is a miracle and the large margin is another miracle. it shows what failure of democrats can do, awaken people temporarily. once again, we have to talk about the issue of abortion, i believe in sanctity of life, i'm pro-life and i recognize political truth and reality and that is majority of american people, as i have been saying for years, people said yesterday, sean hannity admitted -- no, sean hannity has been saying for years that now the consensus in this country, few years i've been saying americans reject the most restrictive abortion laws, they just do. now okay, people can disagree with me. now they especially reject it if rejections target early pregnancy under 15 weeks. not my political view, where the consensus of the country is, even in the state of ohio, red state. 57% of voters added abortion rights to state constitution and democrats are using abortion as political weapon. not only do they accuse republicans of being racist, sexist
