>> i agree with gloria wholeheartedly, no, i haven't. and when i say that, erin, it's not that we're seeing something necessarily that is going to have some huge ramification or that somehow we're going to expect other republicans to sort of open the flood gates and come out and speak out and maybe president trump would change his behavior. i don't expect any of that. that doesn't make today any less remarkable or for the history books. i just have never seen in one day a senior statesman from the party in bob corker start the day by saying that the president really is sort of failing at his presidency and has given up hope he can turn it around. then in the afternoon, this remarkable speech where jeff flake basically makes a moral plea to his colleagues and grabs the republican party by the lapels to say, guys, don't put your head in the sand on this. we need to speak out on it. >> and on that point, i want to talk about senator corker in a moment, but on this point, tim, senator flake used a word reminiscent to some of nazi germany. he

messages with a source saying exactly what gloria just said, despite the signals the president sentlier today that he was okay with this bipartisan deal to give more money to the insurance companies in order to keep some of the payments for -- some of the help for low income americans, he is -- at least the white house is not that thrilled with it. why? because i just talked to a senior administration official who says they applaud the process, the bipartisan process, but that the notion of just giving the money back through the treasury without getting enough in return from the conservative perspective is not okay. that, you know, the conservatives say that it allows states to have more flexibility, but from the -- from the white house point of view, this person i talked to, that the states had that flexibility already and that they don't get enough in return. so as much as there is this bipartisan deal, it looks like if you don't have the white house on board, you're not going to be able to convince very reluctant house republicans and even some in the senate as well. >> remarks i
