. >>> joining me to talk about this, we have cnn chief political analyst gloria borger. how big of a deal is this for jeb bush. >> first of all, standing on a stage with republicans in a debate it's not a big deal at all because most of them agree with him on the planned parenthood front. but i think what you see playing out here is the beginning of the next campaign and hillary clinton picking up where barack obama left off in 2012 in the so-called war on women and we've talked about that a lot and she saw an opportunity and she took it and you can't blame her campaign team because what hillary clinton needs to do is consolidate the vote of white women, particularly those older suburban women she is not doing really well with. she gets younger women. and this is one way for her to do it. they already figured they've got a head start with hispanic voters given donald trump and there was an opportunity on the women front. >> what is to be learned from jeb bush? this isn't the first time he's done this. remember, he said the thing about workers need to work longer hours. n

let's bring in chief political analyst gloria borger to talk more about this. clear democrats were jumping all over this, hillary included. is this a case closed, i misspoke, down deal or does this fall into the category of one of those gaffes that then come back to bite him over and over again? >> well, let me say this, in the republican primary field, it's probably not going to hurt him at all because most of the people on that stage are going to agree with him. but it's also no surprise that hillary clinton, who by the way has been losing some ground with women herself, particularly suburban older women, would pounce on jeb bush on that because if democrats are going to win this election, they need to win overwhelmingly with white women and with hispanic voters. and so this was just a huge opportunity for hillary clinton. of course she took it as any candidate would do and jumped right on it. very much a replay of the 2012 campaign. i'm already beginning to see it. the war on women, jeb bush, a product of lots of money and beholden to special interests and a

i want to dig deeper with carl bernstein and gloria borger. aren't clicking for jeb bush or hillary clinton, bad headlines, lack of enthusiasm in key wings of their parties. is something bigger going on here? or, is it resistance to the two families? or just the two individuals? >> i think we can look to some polling data that tells us most people in this country do not want dynastic politics. the polling is thin. donald trump has hit a nerve by saying, look enough of this kind of the old political classes. let's try something new here. let's try some straight talk even though the straight talk might be double talk. but nonetheless it feels straight. bill crystal who almost never do he and i agree on things. i think has this exactly right in terms of the dynamic. jeb bush has been the beneficiary of trump's candidacy because it has taken all the air away from scott walker from rubio, from cruz all these other people. there is one other thing that trump has got some real leverage. because if he were not to get the nomination, which we can expec
