abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez is here. gloria, one of the issues the city is still working on is finalizing the sale of the oakland coliseum. the mayor was counting on that money, but they don't have it. >> that's right. reggie. and this week, the finance department submitted a revised budget proposal that does not include money from the sale of the oakland coliseum property in may. oakland mayor shane tao had submitted a proposed budget that included those $100 million from the sale, but the deal is not done. oakland city council member giannini ramachandran says that the forecast is that oakland will face a deficit for the next five years, whether or not the coliseum deal closes, there are $63 million in potential budget cuts, mostly to the general fund. cuts may include 100 police jobs by freezing positions, closing four fire stations and some funding cut to violence prevention programs. uc berkeley professor dan lindheim is the former oakland city administrator, and he says oakland's financial health may not be as dire

gloria rodriguez, abc seven news. >> thank you. gloria this morning, firefighters are monitoring a series of fires all within miles of each other near livermore. and tracy and amanda crews are making some good progress, but people who live in that area are still being impacted. yeah. >> kumasi let's talk about those impacts. dozens of people are still without power in livermore this morning after a small fire on the eastern edge of town. now, the patterson fire is burning near the altamont pass. flames moved fast in the grass there off 580. it has burned 110 acres since it started around 415 yesterday afternoon. containment is up to 75% with no buildings threatened. patterson pass road is still closed. firefighters are sharing significant progress on the corral fire as well. that fire in tracy is now 85% contained. it has not grown since sunday and all evacuations have been lifted. flames did destroy one home in its first hours on saturday. neighbors told us they rushed to help and stayed until 3 a.m. sunday to keep the fire from sp

abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez joining us live in studio. d, gloria, how is the money going to help get people off the streets? >> good morning kumasi. despite a tough fiscal year, the san jose city council unanimously passed a multibillion dollar budget 120 million of the $5.3 billion budget is earmarked for homeless solutions. mayor matt mehan is calling it the most significant and strategic investment in addressing unsheltered homelessness in the history of the city. now, as part of last night's vote, the council also approved shifting more than $20 million in measure e funds. funds from the property tax transfer tax were slated to be for affordable housing. some will now go to more immediate solutions, such as complying with the san francisco bay regional water quality control board by clearing homeless encampments near its waterways by june of 2025, or facing hefty fines. >> we have a pathway now to being in compliance with with our stormwater permit and the clean water act, but to do that, we have to follow through on the investments we

live in the studio gloria rodriguez, abc seven news. >> gloria, thank you. we've been following the story of a little boy who was attacked by an unleashed dog in san francisco. now we know the owners of the dog have been cited. the dogs faith, though, is undecided. surveillance video caught the attack on camera. the three year old was walking home with his nanny in the cow hollow neighborhood when the dog charged at him. in a statement, san francisco police said the owners were cited by animal care and control for failure to provide information after a dog bite and failure to report a dog bite to the department of animal care and control. now, the city will schedule a hearing where the dog's fate will be decided, including possible euthanasia. animal care and control says the city's process is focused on the dog, not necessarily the dog's owners. the child's mother says she'd have to take her own action to hold them accountable. >> there's nothing happening to the owners, and if we want to hold the owners accountable, we have to file separately through the c

gloria rodriguez, abc seven news. >> gloria. thank you.appening today, leaders in san francisco are sharing a new push to crack down on the sale of stolen goods. the proposing new legislation that will tackle fencing on the streets. amanda has more on the plan that will be announced today. >> yeah, reggie. san francisco leaders hinted at the plan in november as they banned street vending in the mission district. the ban was an attempt to push out vendors who did not have permits and were allegedly taking part in illegal activities. the goal is to end what the city categorized as extremely dangerous fencing operations, the city says since the ban went into effect, there have been positive improvements, which include reduced calls for service to police and street cleaning requests. the city also says it's continuing to assess how to ensure conditions on sidewalks do not deteriorate again. but the ban also forced out vendors who did have permits . right now, it's set to expire in august. mayor london breed, state senator scott wiener, police

i'm gloria rodriguez here with meteorologist lisa argen.e've been talking about the hot temperatures out there. i know yesterday a lot of people were heading to the coast for the warmer temps, even though it was foggy, fogged in. right? yeah. is today going to be a little bit better in terms of sun on the coast? >> not really. it did clear a little bit. you were telling me so, but that was late in the afternoon. we still have some really dry air in the upper elevations. and that's why the national weather service has put out a slight risk for isolated thunderstorms. southern monterey san benito county, from that moisture there well to the south of us, it is only uh- 8% relative humidity on top of mount diablo, with an air temperature of 79. it's also 79 mount tam with 13% relative humidity, so the warmer numbers above are inversion with the dry, dry air, it is 63 clear in san jose, 54 san francisco. this shot has partly cloudy skies. the golden gate bridge 50. santa rosa 70 by the delta, so still some warmer air there anywhere from two to a

good morning, i'm gloria rodriguez. completed a structural inspection of the tunnel. it found it is safe for passengers and workers, but two areas within the tunnel do need some immediate repair work. service will be interrupted for the k ingleside. the l taraval and the m ocean view lines. shuttle trains will provide connecting services while that tunnel is closed. the 28th annual woodies on the wharf kicks off today in santa cruz. more than 200 old wooden classic cars will be on display. it's the largest woody show in northern california. the old wagons date back to the 1930s, 40s and 50s. the car show starts at ten and it lasts until 330. admission is free. it looks like fun. and if you're heading out there or maybe just spending some time outdoors, today is going to heat up, right, lisa? >> that's right. we have a heat advisory sizzling hot temperatures, triple digits inland. and this heat advisory through 10:00 tonight. but the fog will be hugging the shoreline. it's not going to stop the heat though. in the south

abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez is here with a look at the damage. and gloria, we know hundreds of firefighters are still out there tackling these hot spots. >> they are ready. and, you know, the good news is that firefighters are making progress on this fire right now. the corral fire in san joaquin county is 50% contained. evacuation orders have been lifted and they've been downgraded to warnings. the fire started on saturday afternoon east of a lawrence livermore laboratory site near tracy. more than 400 firefighters responding and two alameda county firefighters were hospitalized for treatment of minor to moderate burns on saturday. colonel gil has lived on bernard drive for about four years, and he noticed that his neighbor's house across the street went up in flames. >> uh. we were in the thick of it. we couldn't breathe, couldn't see. the heat was intense. burning your eyes, burning your eyebrows. it was intense. >> if people are looking for a sign that it's time to get prepared for peak fire, fire activity, this is the sign. >> cal fire says f

i'm gloria rodriguez. let's get to start with a look at your weather. so how is the father's day weather shaping up? >> lisa? it looks good, but we are on alert because of those winds. those offshore winds have adjacent red flag warnings around the bay area. there's a look at live doppler seven where there's no fog at all because those winds have mixed things out in the atmosphere is so dry, gorgeous view from our sutro tower camera where it is 53. in san francisco. cool 45 half moon bay, 57, in san jose and from mount tam right now, sun coming up at 547. we've got low 50s, santa rosa and napa with upper 50s, concord and fairfield. so 24 hours ago we were cooler. this morning we are warmer up in the north bay and cooler at the coast, so our red flag warning for solano county, lake county with north winds gusting to anywhere from 25 to 35 miles an hour, allowing that relative humidity to drop to critical levels. so locally we're clear. we're sunny and we'll see some low to mid 80s inland with those dry winds throughout the afternoon mid 70s around the ba

i'm gloria rodriguez, and of course we'll get to all of that in just a moment. but first we're going to check in with meteorologist lisa argen. she has your sunday forecast. and lisa, of course, getting ready for the big pride parade today. looks like the weather is going to be nice for it too, right? yeah, exactly. >> we are starting out with temperatures in the 60s and 70s, and we're going to go right to the forecast, where you'll notice that at 10:00 we'll be in the low 60s by noontime, upper 60s in the afternoon, warming through the 70s. that sea breeze will be with us. if you're looking to go to the coast, it will be foggy there. there's a system to the north of us that will allow for the low clouds and fog to stay along the san into san mateo county coast. and there's a look at the laser beam where we are looking at 57 san francisco, 60, in oakland and redwood city. and check this view out from mount tam. it is 74. in santa rosa. west wind up to 21 miles an hour, and we're looking at 60s mainly elsewhere, except in napa. now our excessive heat watch has be

i'm gloria rodriguez and happy pride to you. we're about an hour and a half away from the san francisco pride parade. meteorologist lisa argen is here with your sunday forecast. and lisa, you and i took a nice walk this morning and it looks like it's going to be beautiful for the parade. >> it is gorgeous and there's like a party atmosphere, isn't there today because a lot of people out and about and why not? it's a beautiful start to your sunday where temperatures are in the low 60s downtown. the winds are light. they're going to pick up and the fog is going to come back by about noontime or before upper 60s by 12:00, and then by the afternoon, some low 70s. so gorgeous out there. right now we have clear conditions. you can see the fog is well to the south of us, but that will be changing in the next few hours. emeryville, nice and sunny right now. 66 san francisco. so came up a few degrees upper 60s in our inland valleys and look at that 78 there in concord. so we are much warmer than we were yesterday due to the light winds.

i'm gloria rodriguez here with meteorologist lisa origin. and lisa.ng about it just really heating up today. >> yeah but only inland. so if you're at the coast or around the bay, it could be quite pleasant or even cool at times. you can see the low clouds and fog there from the san mateo coast. the marine county coast, and it's a compressed marine layer. so it will be burning off mostly, but not right at our beaches. heat alerts allowing for that advisory in our inland valleys and the hills there, the highlighted area, the diablo range, livermore valley, interior mountains of the north bay, east santa clara hills could see well into the upper 90s to near 100. but look at all the fog from our exploratorium camera. upper 40s half moon bay 51, san francisco. it is 55 over in oakland, and boy, those cameras change quickly. so now you see nothing. 40s and 50s. and from vollmer peak you'll see how quickly the temperatures are climbing 80s by noontime inland, 70s around the bay and partly sunny at the coast near 100 inland. so take it easy out there, all rig

i'm gloria rodriguez here with meteorologist lisa argen and lisa. it was a hot one yesterday. is it going to be hot again today? >> you know, we have the cool down definitely for our inland valley. still going to see some 90s. but we saw temperatures more like 100 degrees in livermore. here's a look at live doppler seven. right now you see all the moisture in southern california. and we'll get some extra cloud cover from that. but not until tuesday. as for your sunday, what a gorgeous shot from mount tam sun coming up at 548. it's 55 in the city, 57 in oakland, 62 san jose. clear sky fog has yet to form. and from sutro, we're looking at temperatures in the upper 40s petaluma but low 60s in livermore and 70 by the delta. so the next couple of hours we're going to warm slower. this morning. we're warmer, five degrees warmer in livermore. and as we go through the 9:00 hour, 60 and 70s. but by about 12, 1:00, we're in the 70s and 80s for most of us away from the shoreline, fog stays at the coast and we'll be looking at near 80 in the san ramon valley, low 80s and we'll talk about
