and i mentioned at the top of the hour we saw gloucester township police show up at the barracks herer and a half or so ago. they dropped off cookies and shared some condolences with the folks here. and trooper sean cullen, he was a trooper here for about two years. first i want to show you though what happened a few minutes ago right before 11:00, troopers came outside, they raised a flag to half staff in honor of a fallen brother. cullen was stopped at a call on 295 south in deptford around 8:15 last night. he was standing on the road when a passing car hit him. cullen was air lifted to cooper hospital with severe head injuries. fellow law enforcement they gathered at the hospital in camden last night. it was a little after midnight when they were told that cullen died from his injuries. a little more about trooper cullen now, he worked at several police departments in our area, those who knew him say he always wanted to be a trooper. cullen was engaged and has a baby boy. and we also just obtained some of the audio, the dispatch audio from last night when this all happened. take a

other injuries, after being struck along i295 southbound, near mile marker 23.4 in depford township gloucester county new jersey state police report. chopper three above that scene where trooper cullen was responding to a car crash resulting in fire about 8:15 p.m. monday. other police and fire vehicles were also on scene. officials say cullen was walking along the highway when he was struck by a car driven by a woman age 22. she remained on scene and was reportedly cooperative. the trooper was air lifted to cooper and moved into surgery but despite effort to save his life he was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. colonel rick fuentes delivered that news to cooper cullen's family, friends, colleagues, who kept vigil through the night. cullen was a member of the 154th state police class. he served for almost two years and had been based in bellmawr. police say plans for trooper cullen's funeral are pending at this time. and will be released as they're finalized with approval from his family. from cooper university hospital, i'm justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >>> new jersey state senate pres
