i call -- care about kids and i also care about golden gate park. the soccer players want more playing time and they want a safe plainfield. there is an alternative to golden gate park that has not been adequately explored. also, i feel that the eir was also quite inadequate. when i first moved into my house 26 years ago, i could hear the birds that night honking, it was beautiful. a lot of, poetic, romantic. i do not hear those birds any more. this was the shore bird migratory pathway along ocean beach right here. flights, these appalling lights will affect the habitat including the migratory birds. another thing that has not been talked about too much as the wind. in 26 years i have seen the wind increase of two hurricane levels. the house -- a three out -- three story house across from my house had a scaffold elected by professional contractors. a blow of the building a year ago. it blew off the building. the fire department had to come, it was a very dangerous situation. the wind is hellacious. park and rec talk about family activities. there's n

two weeks ago, our natural areas that did a three-day volunteer event in golden gate park. over the weekend, 200 volunteers billed nearly half a mile of new trails -- built nearly half a mile of new trails. it was a hugely successful event that illustrates the value partnership in our parks. for those of you who do not know, it is one of the only truly native developed areas in the golden gate park. as you know, golden gate park was built primarily on sand dunes. yet, woodlands are an original part of san francisco. as you probably also know, it is home to our courts and what has been a challenge for the department in activating the area and keeping it safe. the new system has -- the new trail system has already been frequented by walkers, joggers, strollers. it is really incredible, and it has had a significant effect in keeping that area of the park safe. i was there this morning on my warning -- my morning run through the park. not a piece of inappropriate behavior to be found. instead, lots of people using the new trail. congratulations to all of the volunteers that part
