i live near golden gate park, i can walk there any time. i'm lucky that way but golden gate park is central to the city and to all of our neighborhoods and all of our districts. it's difficult for me to imagine people walking or even biking from treasure island to come to golden gate park. same thing with hunters point and hendy park and candle stick, difficult. not impossible. president of the board shamal walton complained people of dis-- of district ten had no access to the park. we need to have the park accessible to all. it is lotable that the rec. and park department wants to have everybody to have a park within ten minutes walking tame from their residence. but golden gate park is unique in the city and unique in the nation, i think in terms of what it offers in the way of museums and other attractions. i think all of us deserve access to the park as much as possible whether or not we can bike there, walk there or for our parents have to drive us there or we have elderly people that need to be driven there. >> thank you. justin? >> pr

i'm excited to come back to you to present the golden gate park middle lake rehab project. my name is alex (inaudible) project manager. the agenda item before you is discussion and possible action to award construction contract for the golden gate park middle lake rehab project not to exceed $5.64.55.00 for the base scope to bauman landscape construction inc. we received two bids and excited to learn that the bauman bid was the low bid and low enough to put the project within range with your approval we'll move forward with the project soon. i presented this at committee and i believe most of you are aware of the project, but sat a basic high level, middle lake is one of three lakes in a chain in golden gate park along chain of lakes drive which drains from south to middle to north lake along the fulton side. the lake doesn't hold water currently so any water put in now drains immediately into the sand and actually dry right now because of that reason. the lake and surrounding area are also choked with invasives and are the trail system around it is really rough and dilapida

golden gate. if you are going to hardly strictly bluegrass at golden gate park, plan on misty and gray. we will see more of that today. there will be a lot of people out there today. you know what it can be like there. i a 50/50 chance you will get sunshine or marine layer. this weekend it is marine layer for hardly strictly. the highs in the low 80s. san jose 82. paloal -- palo alto 79. san mateo 76. east bay shoreline with hayward at 74. a lot of mid80s. these numbers are pretty much right on the mark for average for this time of year. 83 in danville. 85 in livermore. you'll be in the low sifts alont by shoreline. santa rosa 78 and sonoma 82. the numbers in mendocino at 90. as we look ahead to the seven-day forecast, we're pretty much staying right here. we might warm up a bit going into the middle of next week. you can see the temperatures for san jose will be in the mid-80s as opposed to 80. that's really subtle. i don't think you notice a whole lot here. in the microclimate, we'll go from the low to mid80s and back to the low 90s. that's when it will feel a little warm. by the end

frost, who looks much much younger thanllyou -- he wa attendance at the 1961 rosary rally in golden gate park, a famous event in san francisco history. we were both there. i was a 12-year-old kid and you were younger, but this was father patrick payton and he came to san francisco and put on on a rally, a rosemary rally. let's look at some photos from it. let's run some slides. what these are are stills from a very very grainy documentary about 15 15 minutes long. you can see this on youtube....
