his breakout role about the birth of facebook earned him a golden globe nomination. >> you did it.. you planted that story about the chickens. >> i didn't plant the story. >> then came "the amazing spider-man" and the sequel, a pair of blockbusters that made garfield a household name and face around the world. >> do you remember when your life changed? was it social network or was it "spider-man." ? >> it was "spider-man." with "social network" it was people saying, hey, man, i love that movie. the "spider-man" created the separation which was alarming. on a good day if someone asks me for a picture, i give them a hug. >> then i'll force them to hug me. they'll be sweating and shaking. >> do they get the picture and the hug? >> they just get the hug. the hug is enough. i'm a good hugger. i have a lot of hug to give. >> but garfield still restless with that thing. you've said you're not comfortable with the word celebrity. how do you reconcile the fact that you're famous, everybody knows your face and name. >> i think celebrity has become a dirty word. this isn't good for anybody. y

[ laughter ] so, i'm not the only person who has been surprised by this, right? >> you're correct. most of the time when fans meet me, they are either devastated that i'm not like rosa, which is really hard to take in. because they're like, "i love you, but can you just do the voice? can you just do the voice?" [ light laughter ] and then they'll ask me to do the face and pictures and stuff, and i'm happy to do it, but it's weird. >> seth: yeah. [ laughter ] has anyone ever not believed you were rosa? >> yes, many times. and my favorite is people will say like, "you know you look like, girl? you look like that girl that plays rosa on 'brooklyn nine-nine.'" i'm like, "i am that girl." and people are like, "nah, you ain't.
