joining us is jennifer duffy and nathan gonzales. good morning. talk about house races. how many are truly competitive and how does this compare to previous election cycles? we have 52 house races out of 145 on our list. it roughly falls for the target is for midday election cycles. compare to past wave cycles, previous to election day there were almost 100 seats on our competitive list. now we're down to 50. part of the explanation is we have a round of redistricting under our belts where there was somes -- and there was uncertainty. depending on what the national political environment is, we could see that number grow. this could roughly be the field we have for the next 11 months. how many truly tossup races and how many are we onlyive now? guest: have three races, two democrat. -- two democrat and tossup. there are three seats that are leaning in republican's direction. however this is going to change. one of the reasons there aren't more seats as we are really waiting to see the outcome of some of these primaries. this is particularly true in places like north carol

fire danger it's causing and we'll get to lawrence in just a moment, but let's begin with roberta gonzalesm the mobile weather lab in livermore. roberta. >> reporter: michelle, yes, i am with photojournalist greg watts driving around the tri- valley this morning, we are in livermore, population 81,000 people. if you are one of the residents of livermore, then you will be experiencing near or record warm temperatures today. now, keep in mind, right here in livermore the average high is right around 59 degrees. but instead, today, lawrence and myself are forecasting a high in the low 70s and that will equally shatter easily that record high of 69 degrees established back in 2009. so if you are in livermore, pleasanton, san ramon, dublin, blackhawk, all the way to concord, clayton and walnut creek, you are one of at least a dozen different cities that will be experiencing today near or record warm temperatures. now, even though we're here in the tri-valley today in the east bay, my pick city, along the coast santa cruz with the forecast high of 76 degrees. reporting on the streets with mobile

well, speaking of raindrops, we have sent roberta gonzales out with our mobile weather. she is looking for rain in napa. roberta. >> reporter: good morning, lawrence. i have to admit, we have not seen a raindrop here yet. but i want you to think about this. right now at this hour, it is 23 degrees below zero in chicago with a windchill factor. here on the corner of second and main street in napa, it is 50 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. officially we are 73 degrees warmer in the north bay than the midwest. you go yay, great. not so great because we really do need the rain. i know, i hear ya. you have been facebooking and twitter and inviting me to your rain dances. it's finally going to work. but it's not enough. the last time we have had good measurable precipitation in the bay area happened to be on december 30th. okay, we saw about .02" of rain and .01" on january 9th and 11th. that's about it. we are 16% of where we should be this time in san francisco. 21% of where we should be in san jose. so even with the incoming storm system on thursday, it's just not enough.
