good morning, scott. >> good morning. mostly good news in the latest once a year report, john, from joint venture silicon valley, really the best snapshot we have of the south bay economy. it says employment is back to 2006 levels after the valley added a staggering 42,000 jobs last year. this puts us far ahead of the rest of other regions when you think about it as job growth per capita. so here are some numbers for you. the unemployment rate in silicon valley estimated at 8.3%. that's the same as the unemployment rate nationwide. so why do we get so excited by that? remember, we live in, where generally the economy is still terrible. california's unemployment rate is 11%. now, if you're in silicon valley but you're not feeling any of the benefit i'm talking about, you are not alone. this same report says the good times are not shared by everybody. families who make a high income account for nearly half of all homes in silicon valley. and their income is going up. but those who don't make lots of money, in fact, saw thei
