now the gop says president obama has no record to run on. the obama team is proving them wrong with a seven-minute campaign ad highlighting the president's accomplishments. >> the president's stimulus plan saved up to 4.2 million jobs including teachers, construction workers, police and firefighters working to build a stronger america. when a flag ship of the american economy was going down, his auto rescue forced companies and workers to retool and restructure saving 1.1 million jobs. >> the final two minutes of the ad is a rolling list of accomplishments. it focuses on nearly 30 policy achievements. the ad doesn't shy away from calling out republicans from stopping many of these calls. >> vote no. >> vote no. >> republicans are getting wrap as the party of no. >> yesterday not a single republican voted for the bill. the merits of the legislation had little to do with it. >> our top priority should be to deny president obama a second term. >> it would be one thing if they were acting on behalf of the american people but they have opposed pl

essentially by blurring his party's differences with a conservative gop.ng in "huffington post" washington bureau chief ryan grimm in. he has pointed out this was an article written by howard fineman but he writes down some of the items he said to consider from this play book. first describe the gop play book, how it was rensing? >> well, it is one that is aggressive. it employs cultural wedge issues and it exploits national security in a way that democrats are generally uncomfortable with. but we've seen democrats, we've seen obama do that a couple time already. he was asked, romney says that you're weak on defense. you're not able to make a decision. obama shot back, oh, yeah? ask osama bin laden. that's not the kind of thing that a stereotypical kind of weak-kneed liberal would say. so in many ways he has adopted some of these more aggressive tactics. >> again, the wording was confrontational and definitive. was howard referencing the definitive part when discussing same sex marriage? >> sure. both same sex marriage and immigration. typically, democrats

it's good news for the gop. this morning the romney campaign announced a combined haul in april with the rnc of $40.1 million. the campaign has over $60 million in cash on hand. it's more proof this election will not be decided by money and romney will not have to make decisions about where to compete based on cash as mccain did in 2008 when he essentially didn't compete in indiana and north carolina. last night romney told donors in south carolina that his haul wednesday alone was $2 million. earlier in the day it became enough of an issue that romney came back for an impromptu gag el on the plane and joked about what happens at those closed door events. >> got no event today, no public event. you should see all the things we're saying in private, though. >> i know. we're getting kicked off the rope line today. >> you were what? >> we were getting kicked off the rope line today. but that wasn't your doing, right? >> just watching. just watching. >> this has been an issue simmering with the traveling press corps
