we're joined by gopro ceo nick woodman on the call.k, thank you for joining us. >> thank you, josh. happy to be here. >> i want to hop right into camera shipments here, nick. you shipped around 740,000 cameras in the quarter. that's down about 50% from just two years ago. isn't that a clear sign of market saturation here, nick? >> no. the market is far from saturated. when we look at data that shows us whether a customer of a hero 5 camera which is connected to see if they have other gopro cameras as well, we see that very large percentage of customers are new to gopro. not owned a gopro before which would indicate we're bringing new customers into our community and what we see in terms of unit volumes is a year ago in q1, we had heavily discounted go pros in the market to clear the channel and in 2016 we had too much inventory in the channel. in the first quarter we sold through that inventory at retailers so you had significant higher sell through of lower priced product that we discontinue and shifted toward our premium line of prod

gopro earnings out. we have those details. >> hi.d bottom lines, so revenue guidance is strong. all that drives the stock up now after hours, a little under 3%. the revenue's coming in at 218.6 million, beating estimates of 207.8 million, and earnings are a lock of 44 cents, beating by a penny, and the company also beat on the q2 revenue guidance, how it reports between 260 and 280 million. the street looked for 243.7 million. growth margins, however, for q is and guidance on growth margins for q2 light to a slight miss there, but in its full year guidance, the company expects double digit revenue growth year over year which is well above the roughly 7% that analysts were expecting. now, the release does not have a number on units shipped. we'll look for that in the call, but, again, the stock after hours is going up to the positive numbers, and through the regular session, the company stock is down 32% year over year, a rough couple quarters for them, but up over 3% year to date, and the company's ceo says gopro is executing a turn

. ♪ now another mover we watching, shares of gopro tumble .ore money was rushing out of the stock in the latest quarter, beating estimates and giving a bullish second-quarter forecast. investors still not convinced to go push ahead with the turnaround. 75% of the shares on the market are now shorted according to its latest finding. now, the legal dispute between apple and qualcomm is escalating. the chipmaker says that apple is cutting off licensing payments related to the iphone until the contract is settled. qualcomm executive vice president and general counsel dan rosenberg said in a statement, apple is interfering with qualcomm's long-standing agreements with qualcomm's licensees. these license agreements remain valid and enforceable. the company is one of the main supply components to the iphone. joining us now to discuss is ian king. actually, is it one of the most important suppliers? what apple is trying to say is, you claim all these royalties when we are not always using your chip. >> there's two things at play here. and the patents.
