tool for gopro. we spent the last few years making the studio software. >> host: it looks complicated. >> it is not. it just has a big screen. it is easy. you have set two edits, set three export, and the first launch is aa tutorial and step one is where you go through the footage, add it to the conversion, convert the files into the kodak and once you do that the trimmed versions show up over here. and instead of the big long recordings you recorded to the camera you have this little highlight part you like. and from here you drag each one down in the story board and then you tell it to play that one. you can try special effects here. instagram presets and you can upload the clip. and this is happening non de destructively. >> host: how much video can that little camera hold? >> shooting at 30 frames per second in hd it would hold about four hours of content. the higher quality mode takes the time. if you have a bigger card you can shoot more and higher resolutions shorten the amount. basically hd 1

action camera like gopro. plus we've heard about others like samsung. so isn't this going to really accelerate the downturn in the stock? >> yeah. i mean, i kind of think the action camera market is a little bit of a fad, but regardless of whether you believe that or not -- >>ic thats it worse. >> the competition is going to be fierce and am bore rel la is supplying xiaomi which launched the camera half the price of the competitive gopro camera and this transport camera which has an amber rel la chip and nova tech chip that competes as well. the market is getting more competitive thanks to gopro's marketing victory. >> maybe consumers don't mind paying up for what they perceive to be the best? maybe the iphone buyer is the gopro buyer and not going to walk into their best buy or wherever else or go on amazon and search sj cam. >> yes. maybe some will. but $400 versus $60 seems like a big incentive. if you look at the reviews or touch the camera, then you'll see they're virtually identical. >> i can't imagine the $60 camera, john, i don't know this to be

emily: how do you encourage innovation, risk-taking, within gopro?e a wildly successful product, how do you keep it differentiated from the competition? apple is always looming. how do you keep gopro, what you are famous for, the best of the bunch? >> having failed a couple of times, i recognize that your business can always go away. you can never get complacent. i have had it all taken away from me before. it is a point to wake up every morning a little bit scared that that might happen. never think that you have finally made it. emily: does apple scare you? >> no, competition is a good thing. they scare you a little bit, but that drives you and motivate you to stay running and running hard. that is something alive and well in our culture. it is important to never let yourself stop trying to reinvent herself. emily: gopro had a wildly successful ipo, the stock has been a little bit volatile, and yet you have people comparing the company to apple. and analyst told me you are the next steve jobs -- how do you reconcile that? >> you just go do the best
