gordon chang is with me now. gordon, glad to have you here. in the case of yum! brands is it really chinese government pushing yum out or owner of kfc, pizza hut, taco bell make its own strategic mistakes there? >> i think two things occurred at the same time. first of all, there was a lot of bad publicity about yum's meat suppliers. think that probably was orchestrated by the chinese central government because it wanted to tar foreign brands. but the other thing that hit yum is its own fault. they have tumbling chinese economy and they misread it, okay, growth rates fall but con some shun occurred. but what they did in pizza hut outlets offer steak. they went up market. at a time chinese consumers wanted to go down market. essentially they are the future of consumption in china. apple and nike and doing well in china, not many of them, but yum is the future of both of those companies. deirdre: future of both of those companies. you see yum as different kind of example than other american companies. i'm thinking more tech or retail with apple being the exception.
