joining us now, asia analyst gordon chang. good to see you as always.nks for being here. >> thank you, jillian. jillian: explain it, the malicious disinformation campaign. what do you mean by that? >> we've seen it since the beginning of february, the beginning of the coronavirus, when the foreign ministry of china said the coronavirus started in the u.s. and was brought to china by the u.s. army. that was march 12th, a foreign ministry spokesman. then we saw in connection with the george floyd protest all sorts of malicious propaganda, much of it false. so their propaganda has been on everything. it doesn't matter what the subject is, jillian. china's going to go after us hard and it's relentless and cynical and malicious. jillian: let's take a look at what mike pompeo had to say on saturday, this reads, quote, the chinese communist party's propaganda efforts seeking to consistent latconflate the actie denial of basic human rights and freedom should be seen as the fraud they are. the chinese foreign ministry responded with a tweet saying i can't breath

gordon that you are two black people working with you now. you have a chance to start galaxy from the ground up versus these other firms. why is that? how is that --how does that changeorward? mike: we looked at ourselves. we are not doing well enough. i am committed. i told our leadership team that we have to do better. we will get a black member of our board soon. i made a mistake thinking we were a startup company and it is in an industryp where there are not a lot of blacks. i gave myself the excuse. that was a mistake. it is hard. there are not a lot of black president's we have to look a little harder and look at places we are not used to looking. calling meou for out. we are going to try harder. >> what can you be doing? are you working with people and the community to help you address this issue? what kind of support are you getting in terms of finding change? -- we haveve a path a philanthropy group. on the floor below galaxy digital, we spent all day and a lot of money and effort listening to local activists. we have a program called galaxy gives where we have a mentorship and we give grants to six small ngos run by formerly incarcerated men and women. some

streets literally begging for radical change, and how this country police its residents and especially its black residents. neither nancy tung nor geoffrey gordon-creed have been significant in the reform movement and not leaders. they are investigating discipline and appeals. four years ago in a response to a series of fatal officer-involved series and racist and homophobic tests, a review of police practice, resulted in 272 reform recommendations, anti-bias measures, changes in the use of force and how they interact with community members. making the changes recommended in the report will make a meaningful change in our department and it is outrageous that four years in only 40 of the 272 recommendations have been completed. i believe that we need every person on the police commission to be working with life or death urgency and full commitment to reforming our police department and to ending racist policies that are leaning to extreme bias and killings. board supervisors can act local in a meaningful way. we have the power to see who sits on the police commission and only those with a passion in and leading the right for police reform. we ca

gordon is in glasgow. the first minister has taken a careful and cautious approach to opening up restrictions here in scotland. she has said that the changestage. she also said interestingly that she did not envisage scots travelling south of the border to go on holiday, for instance, while the five—mile advisory against any travel for leisure remains in place here in scotland. but, yes, she is expected to brief msps at holyrood just after 12 o'clock, around 12:20pm today on further measures and dates for those further measures to be eased. so, people will be looking to see, for instance, if beer gardens or outdoor spaces and cafes might be given a date to reopen. that was expected in the second phase of easing restrictions and it did not happen last week. they might also be looking at areas like cinemas, museums and galleries. will they be given dates to reopen? one area where there will be no change is on that two—metre social distancing advice and rule. nicola sturgeon has said that she wants to see further scientific advice, and a decision on that is expected around the 2nd ofjuly. the uk government has been giving details of plans to
