you know, i don't think that was a gotcha question.in fact, i thought i was -- set that up in a way he could have responded. what i was asking is if you were attorney general, would you recuse yourself is basically where i was going. instead he decided to answer his own question which is, no, i haven't met the russians, which he has. i would like him to testify again in front of the committee. i think maybe chairman grassley was feeling defensive about the fact that he won't call him to do that because it's, i think, pretty clear now that there's something wrong here, something desperately wrong. >> in jeff sessions' letter to the committee, he said my answer was correct. now that means that if he was lying in h answer, then he's lying again in his letter. >> yeah. the letter really is just sort of insults your intelligence in a way that is just mind boggling. that's why i say there's no other conclusion that can you can come to other than that he was lying and committing perjury. i would like to give him the benefit of the doubt. i wa
