governor shapiro is a deeply thoughtful, uniquely talented leader, and he has been a very effective governor in pennsylvania. senator mark kelly is a former astronaut, for goodness sake, who has done more to address gun violence than nearly any other elected official out there. secretary pete buttigieg is one of the brightest stars and most effective communicators of his generation. i could go on. the point is, they are all impressive. but, before we shorthand the vice president pick for her running mate as "safe," before we narrow him to the "progressive choice," which by the way, he can be progressive, but he is actually a lot of things. take a look at his record, what he has actually done, take a look at what he has to say and how he makes you feel. today, tim walz talked about the joy that kamala harris has brought to this campaign. and, he has plenty of his own to bring to the next 91 days. joining me now is pete buttigieg, former mayor of south bend, indiana, and former presidential candidate. he is joining us in his presidential -- personal capacity, and not speaking on behalf of the

camila, governor tim walz is a dream for the radical left, and i wonder if his record as governor is going to be this attack line from trump and his allies. how you think he should respond to that well, i don't want to give trump's people any advice, but i would suggest that if they want to do that, they should read some of the polling if governor walz believes, for example that we should cut the price of prescription drugs in this country in half to what they all around the rest of the world over 70% of the american people believe that you want to attack them for being radical. >> i'll help pay for the ad wolves believes we should cut prescription drugs that have vote for trump. i don't think so. the american people overwhelmingly believe as the governor, does, that we should raise the minimum wage to a living wage if the republicans want to attack walls and kamala harris for wanting to raise the minimum wage. i'll help contribute to those advertisements. >> how can i think this whole narrative that if you stand up for working class families, it's somehow a negative is totally absur

what do you think gave governor walz the edge of a governor shapiro?l comfort level with people. it's hard to know what was inside the minds of the current vice president as she made this pic. what i'm excited about is that shapiro will be out there campaigning on behalf of the harris — walz ticket. just as all of the other democrats will be. he is a very effective communicator. that is going to be critically important. because this election cycle is very compressed. i think there is some benefit for both harris and walz that the voters don't know a tonne about them. they have an opportunity to define themselves before the republicans had the ability to do so in ways that are negative or misleading. it's great to have these kinds of communicators within the democratic party who are all in behind this ticket. his democratic party who are all in behind this ticket.— democratic party who are all in behind this ticket. his cadence is almost obama _ behind this ticket. his cadence is almost obama at _ behind this ticket. his cadence is almost obama at times
