having a gpa of 2.0 or less. it invites some study. i want to commend mission for all of the support they have put in place. they have done a wonderful job. partly through the help of the money which we know we do not have it all of our high schools. there are some promising practices. i want to commend them for their work. we heard a report from kevin true it and staff about school health education. we got an overview of all the different efforts of the department. some alarming information about our follow through on board policy. it seems like we are not following our own policy and giving students required health education according to board policy. our overall health education policy needs to be updated to reflect changes in the standards. the committee did ask that we begin to look at that and update those standards. but also that we need to look at why students and don't seem to be receiving the required lessons for things like hiv awareness. anything you can think of that is connected to health. it requires 20 health lessons an

i made it my goal to achieve a 4.0 gpa. in my second last semester, i wept because i felt i would receive and a-instead of and a and this would ruin my perfect grade point average. but i did it. the funny thing about academic records is that they do not equate to live. i have been divorced, laid off and fired from jobs, and it has always been a struggle to build lasting friendships. as a survivor of child sexual abuse, i shall go with every personal relationship that i have. -- i struggle with every personal relationship that i have. i needed counseling for my own struggles and issues. it was during these sessions that i figured out that i need to tell my family about the sexual abuse i suffered through my childhood. i was scared that my family would not believe me. another part of me was scared that they would comply my abuse and they would tell me to get over it because i was an adult now. that is the same fear that every survivor faces, the fear of wondering whether anyone really cares about you, including our own family
