fox 13's shayla reaves joins us now from the polk county sheriff grady judd calls it a "horrific" case of child abuse. and he says the man responsible, is finally behind bars. deputies arrested 28-year- old "shawn tucci" for the death of an 11 month old baby boy. they say he first told the child's mother he dropped the baby when he tripped and fell late friday returned home from work -- she found evidence of something more severe -- telling investigators there was lots of blood in the child's bouncy seat. at the hospital -- doctors discovered multiple cuts and burns on the baby-- along with bite marks and bruising. tucci is charged with aggravated child abuse. he was arrested in hillsborough county and will be transferred back to polk county later this week. also in polk county: some dramatic surveillance video from inside the circle k gas station on spirit lake road in winter haven. you can see an armed man point a gun at two store clerks as he demands money from the registers. the clerks cooperate... and the suspect got away with the cash. thankfully, no one was hurt. the suspect is

stephanie grady joins us in the studio with the latest. the violent protests tonight all police in riot gear are out on the streets -- using tear gas to try and disperse the crowd. many protesters are throwing objects and trying to damage cars in the area.. police say one person was shot by somebody in the crowd. earlier reports say he died. the city of charlotte now says that victim is on life-support in critical condition. this protest stems from a police morning. keith scott was shot and killed by an officer while searching for another man named in a warrant. due to the active investigation -- police say they can't release many details -- but the chief says -- scott was armed. chief kerr putney says: " i can just tell you what i know, based on what we've gathered, going through the scientific process of going through the evidence. we did find a weapon. the weapon was there. and the witnesses corroborated it to beyond just protests. now -- police say some arrests have been made ... but we won't likely get a total until the morning... the
